Anybody tall (6'3+) instruct in a Cub? Just curious if there's a hack to getting in the front seat. It seems to be impossible for me. I could instruct from the back seat but it would mean that students would need a pre-solo from someone else.

Is there anyway to tell which flight service stations are operating? I was over the Long Island Sound and tried to call New York Radio on the Deer Park VOR, but got a response from Millville Radio on the Teterboro VOR.

As a practical answer, there are only two physical FSS buildings in the Lower 48. Leesburg, VA and Fort Worth, TX. So you were going to be talking to the Leesburg facility no matter what. /u/radiojockey1222 will have more insight.

Interesting, thanks! What would be the best way to address FSS? Since I'm in range of three VORs with different names on the same FSS frequency, do I just pick whichever is closest and address them that way? e.g., "New York Radio, N1234B 10 miles north of Deer Park VOR on 122.2"?

Say you are doing 6HTIS in an "approved" AATD (with an LOA, etc.) Provided you follow InFO15012, is it acceptable to simply "warp" to the IAF and do the whole procedure from there? Or are you supposed to more like simulate a round robin filght that takes off from an airport?

Sure you can slew yourself back to the approach origin. How do you think we do currency at the airlines? We're not flying 3 laps around the pattern. We're slowing around.

Would an aerospace engineering degree make me more competitive to airlines in the slightest? Currently studying for a dual mechanical/aero degree. I really like my aero classes but dropping that half would save me a semester of tuition so its looking pretty tempting.
