Where to get professional help for vibecoding
Posted by Forward_Compute001@reddit | LocalLLaMA | View on Reddit | 43 comments
I'm thinking about vibecoding the next part of my project, but I will probably with a lot of confidence need someone with a lot more experience, someone or a company that can help me figure out everything to learn this fast or assist me.
The scope and amount of code is relatively small and not complicated, its rather small snippets. (I think I can provide the precise architecture)
Has someone any idea where I can find assistance?
overwhelmedem@reddit
lol I love it when people who self proclaim they don’t know any coding then goes on to tell people who knows how to code how much the code or complexity is.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
You mean me?
If yes, I'm just trying to get some help during vibe coding sessions...This is important to me and I would call myself a "beginner"
overwhelmedem@reddit
How do you know that the scope is small.
Better_Carrot7158@reddit
Bro, please just learn the craft. Its not that hard and completely free
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
I want to learn :) I just want a teacher, mentor that can help me once in a while.
Better_Carrot7158@reddit
Actually, just learn programming, maybe checkout r/learnpython.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Of course,
I'm basically helping myself in every way possible..
Vibecoding adds a new dimensionality and workflow which I want to leverage as much as possible
FusionCow@reddit
the whole point of vibecoding is that you don't have to learn. download claude code with a claude subscription or opencode and use openrouter or some local model. it's super easy.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
what is the best tool, Claudecode?
triynizzles1@reddit
I agree with @fustionCow. The point of vibecoding is you do not have to learn. I know nothing about JavaScript and I’ve been building web browser extensions for my work for the past last 7 months. My best advice to you is know what it is you want done and describe it extremely well step-by-step with all bases covered. I.e.: when you describe a part of your code with an “if” statement you saying “there is at least 2 events happening and here is how to handle one if them” you must include how to handle the other too.
Better_Carrot7158@reddit
There is no point in vibecoding then. I also use AI tools to accelerate but they run into a brickwall really fast, forget important stuff and add technical dept left and right. The only reason im moving fast is because I know what im doing. But just letting the AI do its thing works for super small stuff but anything with technical complexity? You have to steer the AI to do its job properly, even an Opus 4.6
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Thats very good advice! Thanks!
Minute_Attempt3063@reddit
You are looking for a yeah er, het you want to vibecode, confirming you DONT want a teacher
bikerlegs@reddit
But there's so many people working independently in this space. I'm sure there's a monetary exchange that's favorable for both parties to facilitate some knowledge exchange more efficiently (time and money) than self-learning and buying a subscription.
foodman5555@reddit
if you want 1 one 1 i’m sure fiver has some good people who can teach you
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Massive, thanks. I thought about that too but was a little unsure.
I just like this stuff and want to dedicate myself more.
I hope I don't ruin all my karma with all the downvotes that will come in the next hours, lol

If you need assistance with vibe coding then you are not vibe coding
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
I would've rather called it ai augmented coding because I woukd still enforce very strict design choices, which I know ai isn't able to do itself.
The design and architecture is very critical in this project and I've spent years solving this big puzzle, I just need a little bit of help...thats what I asked for and thats what some people actually have already done.
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
You can call it whatever you like you are not vibe coding if you are being handheld
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
I believe in community, I believe that intelligence matters thats why I use AI thats why I ask people who've sent their thoughts down the vibe coding routes and made their intelligent discoveries.
If insights and intelligence didn't mattered no one would use ai
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
Doesnt matter what you believe in vibe coding is a term
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
The term can evolve, the meme can improve
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
Term wont evolve for you
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
You can hold on to a lower standard, if you want to hold on to that I cant change that. It will not evolve and I will certainly not share my insights with you when exploring this domain, the spirit of vibe coding.
you can call a donkey beautiful I call a flower beautiful, I'm fine with that.
I'm not here to teach you something.
Peace ✌🏻enjoy your life. I wish you this from my entire heart.
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
Standarts are standarts for a reason they wont change because of you
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
if i need they do. You can do what you want
pepe-le-btch@reddit
I can help! I taught a bunch of friends and am currently working on a project. I can also help you develop a strategy for getting your first users. Check out my website if you’re interested and feel free to add me on LinkedIn.

I'm very interested.
Big respect to you!

There's no substitute for real experience doing things by hand. Even when vibe coding, if you don't understand the generated code and you wouldn't be able to write it yourself (given enough time), you are at the mercy of whatever the LLM is capable of (which sometimes it can become an unmanageable mess).
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
This is very important to metion.
I unfortunatly don't have the extensive professional experience in coding or as a programer but I have deep understing of linux, bash scripting, virtualisation, backups, production servers, networking, system administration ect I usually prefer the cli And I am a good problem solver and from my testing:
I can tell that the vibecoding has one achilles heel and it is that the software architecture does't change to accomodate the vibe coding workflow.
I'm asking the community because someone might have found a solution or learned useful lessons.

Chatgpt
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Would this also work if i just use the chatgpt api?
AppropriatePlum1006@reddit
Well, it depends using products rather than do it yourself is friendlier to use e.g. codex (chatgpt) or Claude code.
Codex is free I think with limited output/prompts you can try that.
It got a planning/architect phase that builds a prompt with you and then you can continue creating the app.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Thankyou this is very helpful!
I actually already have multiple chats about the architecture, but I forgot about them, I need to find tbe chats.
So I basically start with buidling the architecture first.
and I will compare codex and chatgpt and claude and see what works best.
AppropriatePlum1006@reddit
Chatgpt is just a chatting product that uses openai APIs, codex is specifically made for coding, Like Claude code.
Good luck 🤞
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
I think that I have a good starting point now.
Thanks and I wish you the best.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the help.

I'm sorry to tell you that teaching complete beginners is about the least rewarding experience for advanced coders. This means without significant monetary inducement most won't be interested in helping. I did some coding school instruction, and when a student couldn't even understand a "for" loop, it wasn't fun, it was just frustrating. That's part of the reason I stopped, most students who need instruction are just hapless, and those that are talented don't really need much help.
However, on the plus side, you just want to vibecode, so you don't need to really learn to code, you just need to be able to prompt. In that case, just watch a few videos, and just try stuff until you get some things working.
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
I use linux for 10y now, the shell is the extension of my fisical body. Hahaha
I also had coding at school and have a degree as a network and sys admin. I coded a multi adress crypto cold/wallet that runs on small device that fits a creditcard slot in a wallet and is powered with a cable and your smartphone, and a few useful functions you need for this stuff...just for the sake of understanding that stuff.
Vibecoding is in my opinion an art, and having a good teacher is important.
You can learn skiing by yourself too, but having a pro that knows the matter will save a lot of time.
RogerRamjet999@reddit
Your posts are confusing then. In one you claimed to be a beginner, and now you say you have a sys-admin degree. If you have a sys-admin degree, I wouldn't call you a beginner and I wouldn't think you would need anyone's help. Anyway, all the best to you, I hope you find what you want...
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Sys admin doesn't mean being a pro in coding,
I'm aware that I'm a beginner with this, but are very well familiar with all the server side and administration, I'm the guy if you need to plan you it infrastructure, buy/rent/setup the hardware and secure everything so that the infrastructure remains secure. I'm the guy that plugs in the cables, tells you to change your password every 3 months and informs the ceo about the legal responabilities when operating it infrastructure.
Unfortunatly there is so much to learn, that there is very little time to code stuff...spent an entkre year learning the hardware and infrastructure for ai servers.
RogerRamjet999@reddit
All well and good, but I think you should make it bit more clear what background you have when you post. It will get you much better responses that are relevant to your experience level. If you say, I'm a beginner I'm going to assume you can't really code, and although I try to helpful, I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure out how to teach someone that hasn't even spent the time to learn the most basic elements of coding.
If instead you say, I'm a sys-admin and I'm changing my focus to work more on the coding side, that's very different from "I'm a beginner". Anyway, that's my suggestion, make of it what you will. Cheers
Forward_Compute001@reddit (OP)
Don't waste your time.
I'm pretty a beginner in vibecoding. I'm pretty pro with linux/hardware and basic coding and scripting. But I didn't want to express that because I don't feel that it makes me somehow more competent in vibe coding then someone who only knows vibecoding. Letting AI produce some code that was not written by me introduces some very strange problems, have not complete trust in it and would rather get some help before finding out the hard way and loosing weeks of time.
