The primary concern isnt that Magar himself is a lefty, its that he will cave to the EU which is saturated by the left. Orbán's main claim to fame was standing up to the EU for the country's sovereignty (and the corruption)
The EU has actually stipulated that they will withhold the funding Hungary is due unless Hungary caves to their demands in regard to LGBT.

From what little I know of Eastern European politics, trying to fit them into a US left/right framework is dumb no matter what. It's often the liberal parties that are more pro-free market, and the right-wingers who favor government intervention in the economy. US-style IDpol also simply isn't a thing.

Left/right is a weird concept anyway and is different in every country. In The Netherlands a lot of people for example are economically on the left side of the spectrum, but culturally more and more right. Im not saying a majority, but more and more people.
