Question for aviators in the US. Can I claim the flight lessons + flight rental cost as tax deductible?
I have opted the Part61 route to get my PPL.

Just for entertainment, why would you think they are tax deductible?
What deduction category would you be claiming them under?

Education expense

No, there’s a mechanism by which you can use money from a 529 savings plan now, but nothing about flying is tax free unless you’re at an accredited school, and even then most things are not tax deductible.

Here's the questions to ask them, but safe to assume no.

Thanks . Bummer, I’m spending a fortune to get my PPL.

Hell, no.
Why would you think you could?

Thanks for the advice. How about various things I had to buy , like headphones, checklists , guides for the exam and so on ?

Do you really intend on getting financial or tax advice from Reddit?
Talk to a financial professional BEFORE you get yourself audited.

Nope. And good way to get audited.

No you cannot. You have 2 days to file though so there is still time to find some other deductions.
