Yup. Did this during the ban to get more than 10 rounds of 9mm. You need to just barely tweak the lips. You’ll know when it’s right because you’ll be able to reliably get 9mm to stay in there

Funny enough, I'm an OG XD40 user (bought ca. 2005). I got 10 of these on for like 60ish shipped about 3 years ago. I'd go in again, but I have 15 mags for that one gun alone.
As an aside. The original XD is a great gun and vastly underrated. The biggest warranted complaint was the fact that if the grip safety isn't depressed, you cannot operate the slide.

My XD 40 cal is the most jammiest POS gun I own. I taped it to the outside of my bedroom door to let the butt rapist think he’s got it easy. Jokes on him, that thing jams on second shot so I only need to dodge or absorb the first shot. Should be easy but either way, after I shoot him with a non jammomatic something at least once we can laugh as we are now even Steven. I’ll probably give that XD to him as a door prize and to not come back for the bhole.
I won’t be buying these mags fyi.
