You should already know how to work on cars because there are very very few shops left in the US that will still work on a 240 (all the classics shops focus on American makes). Also dont buy into the propaganda that they’re these uber reliable, never break down monsters. The engines absolutely are, but the rest of the car can be very finicky in spots. Ive already had to replace the original transmission at ~90,000 miles, but I think that was due to a cooling issue.
Overall, you’ll wanna watch out for the flame trap, the fuel tank (on mine its under significant pressure as a emissions thing, and the weld already failed in a section of it), the odometer gear in the gauge cluster (do NOT reset the trip odometer while you’re in gear)
Yeah, but you see that is a civic, like a pleb car! True Murican patriots are buying the biggest badassest ford suv with a milage of 'we don't talk about it'.
Pretty sure the Yaris was a base model, I don't recall any options even being available. It was also an extreme outlier for cars, and only existed for that mpg. Completely stripped down for weight, and the smallest engine capable of (eventually) getting the car to highway speeds.
I don't know what year civic you had, but I don't remember any being listed as 50mpg, but I imagine you could get that when hypermilling.
my car (2020 fusion) does not have built in navigation, it can depend on the software package / trim level you have in whatever car you have. i use carplay
I always wondered who the shirts and posters that said stuff like ''I had to PAUSE my GAME to be here'' or ''Just FIVE more MINUTES'' with a game controller in the background were made for, but I guess now I know.
Got 3 years map updates on mine with the RDS traffic, a 3 year package after was about $120. After that Maps was good enough to use on the phone with live traffic reports and not too much data use and battery, with a cradle and data package I almost never use the car sat nav
“You didn’t either” is the most soul sucking and useless argument in this situation ever. If you didn’t need it until i asked, fuck you gimme, you can wait
Why dont people charge their phone during the night, if they are going on a long trip the next day? Or if you have a phone that fast charge, plug it in when you get up.
I have seen people sitting on the floor in the bus station at 7am charging their phone on a power outlet meant for the cleaner. I've no idea why people who rinse their battery with constant phone use, blue tooth and internet always on and screen brightness at 100% don't recharge over night
Make sure it’s rated for to support fast charging for multiple devices. Had a shitty one with two ports that claimed to “fast charge” yet the power output would greatly fall if two devices were charging at the same time. Bc my phone wasn’t fast charging, it actually was using more energy than what was being charged and my battery dropped below 10%.
I've got a 2.5A adaptor for the cigarette lighter port (car also has 2 5v usb A connectors but they're not that fast) and that charges sufficiently faster than Maps drains, it's slightly faster to charge if you use wireless in the cradle but means charging for 2-3 hours to get close to full
Glad I can't relate to this. Wife's like, "oh yeah, been charging the whole time, kind of silly of me to not keep your phone charged when it's getting us when we're going".

A good chunk of vehicles on the road have a similar or lower mpg than this. This includes modern vehicles.
