When transcribing English to Katakana you use キャ for ca as in cannon, and か for words like cast. (Unfortunately I’m not familiar enough with phonetic notation to make it clearer, but they’re different a sounds)
か is the hirigana 'ka'. Since cannon is a loan word, it would use the katakana カ 'ka'. But for modern usage you are correct, キャ is more typical for referring to a fictional cannon.
The phonetic notation for キャ 'kya' is /kʲa̠/, similar to the ca in cat (or cannon) . The phonetic notation for か and カ is /ka/, similar to the ca in car.
Oh wow, thanks for pointing out the wrong character there, idk how that slipped through. I’m on iOS and trying to switch between English and Japanese keyboards can be finicky with certain apps for some reason.
キャノン (kyanon) is used pretty extensively in fiction. ハンドキャノン (hando-kyanon) "Hand Cannon" appears all over anime, video games, and manga. To my knowledge キャノン exclusively refers to a weapon.
カノン (Kanon) has multiple meanings. When used to discuss firearms, it is in more of a historic context of artillery, i.e. カノン砲 (Kanon-hō) "cannon gun". It also refers to a type of musical composition though, i.e. Canon in D.
Further, キャノン is an English loan word and カノン is an old French/Dutch loan word. Using キャノン avoids ambiguity, and uses the more modern loan word.
I guess. I lived in japan 15 years. Just moved back to states 5 years ago. Never got into anime nor japanese pop culture stuff. So their aesthetics are lost on me. I do speak and can read and write kanji. But it’s more for work and necessity.
Kinda. I mean I felt that way before I went. I loved my time in japan. But not for the pop culture stuff. It was oddly peaceful and relaxing. And while I dislike japanese way of … being … I admire how they are. For themselves. Just not for me.
Haha I get it. I've been a few times, learned some basic/intermediate language, and it's a blast. But man, I couldn't imagine putting down roots there.
Could not pay any attention to the gay hieroglyphs on the slide, was too distracted by the limp wrist, loose fidgety grip and flinch on the empty chamber drop. Lord have mercy.
With how badly he was handling the recoil I was expecting this to be in some ridiculous calibre, not .45ACP still! I've seen a small child handle the recoil better (the kid that started the YT channel Autumns Armoury, but back when she was 6 or so).
A result of spending far more $ on guns and add on tacticool stuff than training of any sort apparently. I wish we could say it's rare, but it's not. Are you going to benefit more from a fancy comp added or actually being able to grip the pistol correctly? Hmmmm.
I did it for you. Kid’s just a pretentious douchebag slapping his piece on all his favorite firearm subs including r/liberalgunowners without so much as even listing the caliber it’s chambered in. Obviously can’t shoot worth shit either lol
What does that mean? Because it looks like it just has an anime character in the grip and a blue/pink gradient Cerakote paint job with some Kana on it.
Is there some sort of special "anime trigger assembly" or something?
It says "Hanto kyanon" in katakana. They meant for it to say "Hando Kyanon" (Hand Cannon) It's wrong. They need to add two dashes next to the ト "to" to make it ド "do".
A few years back I was at a USPSA match, a dude shows up in a pink tutu, an 'anime pistol' and some other weird accessories. A total meme outfit.
The thing was, the dude was a solid A class shooter. So the meme joke actually worked. We had a good laugh, the guy got plenty of attention, and because of his excellent shooting and attitude, he got a whole lot of respect too.
I think a lot of us thought, from your post yesterday, that you were someone in that category: an actual shooter that wanted to have a good laugh with a meme pistol. Because why not.
But without the shooting skill and good attitude to go with it...eh. Probably not the response you were looking for.
I’m not mad at you for being a brand risk and pathetic op, I’m mad at you for being less lethal than you could be.
Cut to him two months from now at Taran tactical, breaking records. next Olympics competing neck and neckbeard with the Turkish Baba yaga— while representing Japan.
Must be that new Japanese technique I have been hearing about were you loosen your grip just as you pull the trigger, and let the gun follow its own path
You should get a bushing comp from PTP Tactical..it will look more flush and even around the edges/contour of slide..and they do the same finish just like that one you have..
He’d probably get less crap about the misspelling of the kanji if he actually looked badass shooting it. He’s got such a horrible grip on it that it’s not even tea cupping. It’s more like fondling the hairy balls with a little tickle.
That recoil is so horrible with that piss poor grip. That just goes to show that he doesn’t know how to spell in Japanese, and knows even less about shooting.
I've never seen someone with such weak grip that they have to reset their hands after each shot. Maybe get a .22 until you build up some hand strength.
That bottom hand thing is called tea cupping. It ain’t doing shi-it for recoil management. Push forward with your grip hand, pull back with your off hand. Keep the pistol in that push/pull state of beautiful flux, slow steady squeeze.
