I tell people on my last day before I retire. I'll take the semi through a drive-thru. Just kidding
BTDMKZ@reddit
I’ve gone through a drive thru in a semi, there’s a Pizza Hut in Oklahoma that’s made for it next to a loves truck stop and a McDonald’s in Arkansas
aghostofrazgriz@reddit
There's a few Sonic's in Oklahoma that are like this, but a Pizza Hut?
BTDMKZ@reddit
1815 S Mississippi Ave 69 South, Atoka, OK 74525 this one. I posted a picture of me in the drive thru in this subreddit a few years ago
aghostofrazgriz@reddit
That's the only Pizza Hut I could think of, as I've actually ordered pizza there many times. But I usually just park at Frost's and walk over. I'm not sure the drive-thru is actually designed for trucks though, but it does look as if you could get one in there.
CaseyJones37@reddit
I think that USA Truck driver at the NJ limo place reinforced that you can get a semi in anywhere if you try hard enough.
Existing_Inside5200@reddit
Ummmm what?! Did I read that right that there's a drive thru for semis? I will go out of my way to hit that up!!
postylambz@reddit
I just had this idea to make truck only drive thru. Or maybe like a sonic type deal where people roller skate out your food and you order via app. Didn't know these actually exist though
Ur_Fav_Step-Redditor@reddit
The Jubitz in Portland has a drive up window for the scale and you can buy snacks and stuff from the store while you’re there. That’s the closest I’ve gotten to a drive through
Duchess1992@reddit
There's a McDonald's in Valentine Nebraska that has room for a tractor trailer as well
curlyfat@reddit
I can’t remember where it was, but 10+ years ago I went through a McDonald’s drive through near oilfields (since that’s the work I was doing at the time). It was well signed and advertised for semis and it was honestly amazing. Even better, they had about 15 parking spots for trucks too! (Which makes the drive through feel lazy, but fuckit. It was handy.
Wasabi-Kungpow@reddit
They probably told him you couldn't walk up and place an order and after trying to reason with them that you have an 18 wheeler they still said you need to drive in. Well hold my fucking beer then.
Lifeofthedon@reddit
Damn right 🤣🦄🦄🦄🦄 deserves a crazy upvote
SuperReleasio64@reddit
I had a fast food place do that too me when I was bobtailing. They absolutely refused to let me walk the drive thru and lobby was closed. They didn't like the fact that I held up traffic when trying to make the turn to get to the window. It costed then an extra 25 or so minutes while I maneuvered the tight ass drive thru so I didn't delete their speaker box.
Jacktheforkie@reddit
I’d have dropped the trailer in n the car park and gone through, would have made things slightly easier, though how did you deal with the height difference between your window and the microphone
SuperReleasio64@reddit
I got out of the truck lol. I also had to get out of the truck to get my food so making me drive it through was completely pointless.
ShoebillJoe@reddit
That's not an 18 wheeler. And that's a woman.
Wasabi-Kungpow@reddit
Well that explains the driving.
angrydeuce@reddit
How much signal I need cut across 8 lanes? I turn now, good luck everybody else!
ForgottonTNT@reddit (OP)
😂😂I felt that
jamieee1995@reddit
How I feel driving my Chevy 2500 crew cab long bed.
TruckerDono@reddit
There's one off i80 Ohio you can go through... It's a TA though.
imprezv@reddit
I took a daycab bobtail through a taco bell once.
grimnir_music@reddit
Same I often go thru Taco Bell drive thrus bobtail on my regular routes. They got used to me 😂
Unfair_Analysis_3734@reddit
I assume you had no cab fairings what so ever.
imprezv@reddit
Nope. It was an old Columbia daycab. And the drive through didn't have any awnings
Jacktheforkie@reddit
Here in the uk they have height restrictions on the entrance, my colleague took a forklift around, he said it hit the dangling balls but got around just fine
Parking-Delivery@reddit
I used to go through drive throughs very much only made for cars in my rollback tow truck.
was glorious watching moms in suburbans smash into curbs while I would just kiss the curbs.
boss would get pretty upset about the sidewall rub marks though. I would just tell him I was pulling away from traffic on stops.
BigD93klover@reddit
Damn, I thought the sign was wrong
Lightyear18@reddit
Couldn’t get off
Americans
erything4sale@reddit
I always parked where they could see my semi and they always let me eat. I never was denied for not being in a vehicle in a drive thru. It was weird standing in front of 6 cars and taco bell was taking their sweet time!
Mystery_Chaser@reddit
Which way should she turn her wheels to get out of this situation?
Correct_Writer_3410@reddit
You have to back out of it same way you got in. Ask me how I know
realgrasputin@reddit
Straight trucks... just do the darndest things...aww
CVU03@reddit
Where is the trainer
Quynn_Stormcloud@reddit
I’m actually genuinely surprised that franchises that attach themselves to truck stops don’t have a drive thru lane for the semis. Seems like a bog-standard American innovation to me.
ForgottonTNT@reddit (OP)
They don’t like trucks 🫠
Metaltom1970@reddit
There used to be one in Minnesota at a McDonalds don’t remember the town
Hot-Association-3722@reddit
Jesus this type of shit reinforces my distrust of other drivers
Playful-Excuse-272@reddit
Seems like this could be a niche…
CUBuffs1992@reddit
When I first started driving, it was box trucks. There was a Wendy’s that had a straight drive thru and we took the trucks in it one time.
StrangeReason@reddit
Yeah I'll admit I've had that dream many a time. Also, I thought it would be fun to go bobtailing in the mountains near El Paso. Lol
NativeDaemoN@reddit
Typical Starbucks customer...
LucHighwalker@reddit
There's a Wendy's in Ohio where you can go through the drive through with a semi. They're not happy about it, but it's possible.
duhrun@reddit
Yeap used to do this at jack in the box.
Wildcatb@reddit
Wanted to? Hell I've done it.
BouncingSphinx@reddit
Had a friend of mine go through a McDonald's drive in our small town in a log truck. The turn around the back was super open, didn't have the two lanes or curbs at all and was just open to the rest of the parking lot.
