If you know what tv show intro this couple is from, you might be a Xennial.

I'm not familiar with this episode of CHiPS.
LookHereFotherMucker@reddit
Aw shit. It's time for you might be a Xennial if...
Sleepy_cheetah@reddit
Knew it as soon as I saw it. I used to watch SNL reruns on comedy central all the time. And I loved it as a kid!
Comprehensive-Fact94@reddit
For a second, before my eyes focused, I thought this was Little Richard and Christopher Walken.
Coitus_lnterruptus@reddit
Was it a segment on HBO's Real Sex?
TheJokersWild53@reddit
Real Sex was great to watch back in the day
Smoky1279@reddit (OP)
Real Sex was usually a disappointment. I watched it hoping to see strippers but found 70 year old German nudists instead.
enters_and_leaves@reddit
Yeah, but when it wasn’t, Ho-boy!
toomanyusesforaname@reddit
It was never what my twelve-year-old self wanted.
KevinStoley@reddit
Lol this is spot on 😂
EvenLettuce6638@reddit
Yeah, very non sexy. Blurred Skinemax was better.
Marachek@reddit
I thought it was from Real Sex as well.
squish042@reddit
I thought it was the dad from family matters haha
poindxtrwv@reddit
Any time I see this guy, I know I'm in for a good episode.
Ordinary_Aioli_7602@reddit
SNL!
Putrid_Front865@reddit
Don Pardo voice: “It’s Saturday Night Live!!”
From around 1991 or so
Jestris@reddit
Huh. I remember Toonces the Driving Cat, Church Lady, 5 Alive, but I don’t remember this skit.
AZbitchmaster@reddit
It wasnt a skit, just a still shot from the intro.
Jestris@reddit
Ah! Thanks for clearing that up!
Just-Try-2533@reddit
I love how everyone will chime in and say it’s SNL but nobody can be bothered to tell us who these pixelated people are or why it’s so instantly recognizable.
Smoky1279@reddit (OP)
I've wondered who they were since the 90s and Google reverse image search didn't help.
mrnoonan81@reddit
Isn't it "Live from New York, It's Saturday Night!"?
Putrid_Front865@reddit
Pardo was the announcer - the cast yells “live from New York, it’s Saturday night!” at the end of the first sketch, then the music starts and the announcer says “It’s Saturday Night Live, with …” etc.
Bulky_Goat_9624@reddit
You nailed it! Season 16, 90-91. I just watched that season.
jackfaire@reddit
Oh... yeah I thought SNL was boring when I was that age.
Clear_Tangerine5110@reddit
Instantly knew what this was from.
maggie320@reddit
Along with the screeching sax of Lenny Pickett.
Smoky1279@reddit (OP)
Exactly.
LineImpossible3958@reddit
Is this right before Kevin Nealon looks at a bass guitar?
Jupitersd2017@reddit
I have no idea haha
Morriganx3@reddit
Me neither. I’m pop-culture challenged
Jupitersd2017@reddit
I think 90-91 SNL we were past that age of watching, that was middle school, we had more important things to do 😂, but also that’s the year I moved out to the middle of nowhere and we couldn’t get any channels - and I mean even nbc lol. They tried to sell my dad one of those Huge sat dishes but he had read about the small direct tv dishes coming out so we waited for 2-3 years with no tv haha
burjja@reddit
I think middle school is actually the time those of us who did watch, started watching. You're old enough to be up at 11:30pm on a Saturday night but not old enough to be anywhere other than home or a friend's house. And at a time in life you desperately want to be older and cooler, at least back then, I think watching SNL did that for people.
Morriganx3@reddit
I knew people who watched SNL through highschool and in to adulthood, but I just never got all that in to TV. Partly because we had no channels til around 1990, and partly because I have always liked books better.
When we played TV tag in elementary school, I had trouble because I didn’t know very many TV shows. (In case this was not a common thing, TV tag was tag where you could freeze in place and yell out the name of a TV show right before you got tagged, and you’d be immune to getting tagged until you started moving again.)
Jupitersd2017@reddit
lol I read a lot too, I’ve never heard of tv tag but I would have really sucked at playing that, all I can remember really watching was twin peaks and the xfiles so I wouldn’t have had anything to yell 😂
KevinStoley@reddit
Insomniac with Dave Attell?
bfume@reddit
I thought so too but it’s SNL
Starship1617@reddit
Is that Little Richard or Johnny B. Badd? 😆
Smoky1279@reddit (OP)
He does look a lot like 90s Mark Mero there.
bgva@reddit
As someone who was obsessed with Wayne’s World in the early-90s, I love how I immediately recognized this even though it was only onscreen for a couple seconds.
Antron_RS@reddit
90s SNL reruns on Comedy Central were so clutch
maggie320@reddit
I was in the hospital back in 98 and they had an SNL marathon running from episode 1 to the present day. That was a bad visit, but being able to laugh at SNL was some pretty good medicine.
Strict-Farmer904@reddit
One of those screen shots you can hear
nin4nin@reddit
I’m drinking a Jolt Cola and sleeping over with two friends
zomgkittenz@reddit
Clearly the office. But when Stanley the Manley and his wife were 30, in the 1990s
HOTDOGVNDR@reddit
Night Court.
Fat_Lenny@reddit
I'm pretty sure it's SNL. Either show had some saxophone and it was definitely when this couple was on the screen.
HOTDOGVNDR@reddit
Edit- I'm doubting myself, could it be SNL?
