Is it worth it an X3D for such high price?

I have now a Ryzen 5 5500 and I’ve been struggling for months now with the performance in CS2, I compete in a very low tier in a shit team (shit in general not the teammates) and it’s imposible to get to a good lvl when the pc is lagging and with fps drops. My gpu is a gtx 1660ti, im thinking of buying a 5 5600x or a 7 5700x or waiting I don’t know how much to spend +300€ on an X3D. I know the x3d performance is out of the league of the other 2 but, for people with a 5600x and a 1660ti or similar, how’s performance in general on 4:3 and 1280:960, ChatGPT talks about drops between 150-180 fps and peaks of 250, is like that, better, worse, and what should I do? Ty

What refresh rate is your monitor? I went from a Ryzen 9 5900x to a Ryzen 7 9800x3d recently and the jump was significant. My gpu is rtx 3080 and I didnt realise how cpu bottlenecked I was in multiplayer fps games. Much better and stable performance in CS2, Apex legends and Fortnite. I play at 480hz. CS2 I get 800+ fps, Apex is limited to 300 and I rarely dip under it, and Fortnite is at a stable 300+ fps.

Im with 165hz, not much but I still can feel the difference between 180 and 240+fps in game
Odom12@reddit
Might be a stupid question, but, if you monitor does 165hz, how can you get 180-240+ fps if the monitor can't show more than 165fps? Even if your machine can do more than 180fps, you are still limited to the 165 of your monitor. Or am I misunderstanding something?
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
Even the monitor only shows 165fps, you can still feel the variation in smoothness in the game between 165 and 240 fps, and also the game’s frame time is better when more fps. Idk how to explain it well, but it’s something like that, and also better responsiveness from the mouse and keyboard.

What is your memory configuration as shown in the BIOS? Double check you have XMP or EXPO enabled so you're getting full performance there.
Since you mentioned already trying all kinds of things to fix what you're perceiving as performance dips, my first piece of advice is that you should try a full fresh Windows install. Once you're sitting at a completely fresh desktop, install just the basics (browser of choice, all necessary drivers, Steam, CS2) then open it up and play and see if it feels any better.
Sometimes those perceivable framerate dips come from random background stuff you forgot about installing long ago, or whatever else sapping away resources while you're playing. It sounds like a lot of what you're feeling is coming from inconsistent frametimes and perhaps microstutters rather than simply low framerates.

Rn I have a fresh win10 install, I was on win11 and I’m testing performance since win10 is usually lighter, I also installed atlas os for better optimization, and of course xmp activated with all the speed my ram can give me. Ty for the help btw.
karmapopsicle@reddit
Good stuff. AtlasOS is a great choice for cutting down on the Windows bloat.

For CS2 specifically, the 5600X would be a solid upgrade at around 120-150 euros. The 5500X3D from AliExpress (szcpu store is legit) is great if you can grab it under 200. Your 1660Ti is not the bottleneck here - CS2 is CPU heavy and those smoke/fight drops are classic CPU bottlenecks. X3D cache helps massively with 1% lows. If budget is tight, 5600X first, upgrade GPU later.
blackburn26@reddit
Bro, I compete using 6th gen Intel + 144Hz BenQ at average 12k MMR. I don't think your system has anything to do with your skills issue...
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
Sorry, did u mean 12k premier? I’m playing at 16-18k rn huge jump in lvl, but if it feels good for u I don’t have anything more to say.
blackburn26@reddit
Search Youtube for Nartcsgo optimized video for CS2. You will definitely get better system performance. I'm a 15-year CS:GO/CS2 veteran so I can tell you it will always be skill issue because reaction time is the human problem, not hardwares. Of course, with better equipment you might get better performance, but did you practice hard enough to maximize your 165hz monitor yet?
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
Btw the channel is named nartout there?

The ONLY CS2 FPS BOOST GUIDE You'll EVER NEED, Increase FPS, REDUCE Input Lag, & CS2 Optimization!
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
I’ll do, ty. I’m not that veteran but I’ve been playing shooters for almost 10 years and I understand ur point but every time I go play cs with my friends at a cibercafe next to my house I almost duplicate my performance in every game, by averaging 13-16 kills per map to 20-30 kills with high impact, I mean it can’t be only skill issue, I go from dominating every game and playing confident in every peek to die when there are +2 smokes in the map, surely I have something bad configured and that causes the fps drops but I’m not exaggerating when I say that when i go into a fight I have all the chances to lose

Consider a 5700X / 5800X / 5800XT
MoistWelder8712@reddit
5500x3d (only decent x3d option on am4 depending on where u live), and both 5600x or 5700x (if u rather want 8 cores) are all huge upgrades compared to the 5500.
Before recommending anything, what is your budget?
4theheadz@reddit
Sorry but 5800x3d shits on the 5500 version
MoistWelder8712@reddit
Yeah the 5800x3d for 500€ is better than the 5500x3d for 200€, how did you figure that out?
Admirable_Bug_7867@reddit
obviously a better cpu but it's very overpriced and hard to get
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
250€ Max
nemanja694@reddit
No, also something is wrong with your setup, 5500 is capable of playing cs2 smoothly
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
Idk I have tried all, overclock/volt, underclock/volt, leave it stock… I have all the bios, windows and nvidia/amd settings optimized to play cs2, but I still get drops when I go into a fight or when are to much smokes. Everything tells me that the cpu can’t keep up.
Leo9991@reddit
Some of the optimizations out there can do more harm than good. Might be one of those situations.
VoltageinTheory@reddit
5700X/5800X should be sufficient. You should probably also upgrade your graphics card in the near future
aragorn18@reddit
Look into the 5500X3D. If they're not available in your region, there are sellers on AliExpress.
Jay467@reddit
Also check that your motherboard has it listed as a supported CPUs. Probably not a problem for most B550 boards but some like my Asus tuf B450m have not received bios updates supporting the 5500X3D

Hey, I'm not sure how else to do this, but I saw your comments on a post about the Rollerblade RB 80s.
I was wondering if you did anything to improve the flex of the cuff. I just bought a brand new pair and the cuff is ridiculously stiff. I can't even bend my knees freely, because my shin is always fighting against the cuff.
I'm considering replacing the rivet cuff with a cuff bolt, so i can have it more loose.

I sent you a chat message since it's off topic for this subreddit, hopefully you're able to get that message

How’s aliexpress these days? Is it trustworthy yet?
Apprehensive_Tea4510@reddit
Yes. I ordered 5500x3d not long time ago from aliexpress (seller - szcpu store), everything was ok

szcpu is the goat

I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600 with an RTX 5070. Playing at the same resolution as you, I averaged around 485 FPS on the benchmark map. I'm not sure what it's like in a real match since I don't have the FPS counter enabled, though. I was considering upgrading to an X3D chip, but I've decided to just save up for AM5 instead.
TheRex11_YT@reddit (OP)
I just want to know if u feel the game smooth, I mean with an 5070 it’s difficult to get fps drops, but I don’t need something with 500fps, I want a cpu that can give me 250 fps always and not with drops to 130 that leaves me in a disadvantage with the other players
vrtekS96@reddit
The only option as others said is the 5500x3d. 5700/5800x3d is ridiculously expensive. Or an 5700x, but upgrading to a 3070 from the 1660ti wouldnt hurt either even tho cs is a cpu heavy game.
Ihavedonehomework@reddit
I was running a Ryzen 7 5700X with a 1660 Super about 2 years ago, and I was getting around 250-300 FPS on average at 1280x960 on high settings.
