Can I change the spot my m.2 ssd is placed on the motherboard?

I have already built my pc with all the components working, but I found that there was a better slot for my ssd, since it was able to be covered, which looks better. Will my pc work normally if I change the spot the ssd is situated in?

Yes. You may need to change the drive boot order but it should[n't] care which slot it's in besides that.
Ninja edit: Oh. And it might change your drive letter in windows.

5 years late but my main disc was dying so I cloned it to another one and set it as the main boot drive which now works fine but it is sitting in an expansion card right now and I would like to put it in one of the M.2 slots on the Motherboard itself at somepoint
Would that cause any problems since the PC already detects it as the new C: drive and is working fine currently?
