weedywet@reddit
That we are irresistibly sexy.
Only most of us really are.
mogrim@reddit
Your mother isn't irresistibly sexy. Just available.
Which I guess is a sexiness too 🤔
VernonPresident@reddit
At least she's cheap
kilgore_trout1@reddit
Sorry I disagree with this one. We’re all hot as fuck.
Puzzled-Horse279@reddit
We all have posh accents or cockney accents and no other accents.
We apparently eat crumpets more than anything else for breakfast.
People thinking our ethnic minority demographics and their culture would match their American counterparts for some reason.
The obssession with tea. I feel half of the Adults I know are more obssessed with coffee especially strong ones to keep awake.
Guns are completely illegal here. They are not. Gun licenses are extremely strict here and people with licenses can only own Shotguns and Rifles. Also mocking UK gangs for not owning guns coz theyre illegal in the UK.... because criminals/gangster will actually care about legality. If they want a gun and will use it. They will.Â
Apparently we are being overtaken by Brown Asian culture / being Islamified. Trust me we are not. Yes the largest non-white community are Brown Asians. Yes the largest minoritiy religion is Islam. But they are definitely not taking over. They are just another group thats part of our country. British Media always tries to demonise the worst of them or ignores the best of them if they can. Lots of media bias.
kalendral_42@reddit
According to some American websites it is absolutely normal (as in all us Brits) regularly have mustard baths
Puzzled-Horse279@reddit
What the fuck is a mustard bath?
Ive seen baked bean bath for charity... as someone who vomits at the smell of baked beans. That sounds like a nightmare even if its for charity.
kalendral_42@reddit
Apparently we all slumber into baths full of mustard on a regular basis as part of some weird British cultural thing & apparently it’s a tradition that has been happening for decades, if not 100s of years
Puzzled-Horse279@reddit
Dafuq? How out of date are peoples info on the UK.
I swear Mustard Bath? I dont think anyone was ever mentioned this in my lifetime (granted Im from the 90s but still 30 years)
ThisizhollZ@reddit
The dentist costs for me 😩 where are you getting free dental care lol
Puzzled-Horse279@reddit
Free for under 18 as far I remember. So I dont see how people are growing up with messed up teeth.
ThisizhollZ@reddit
Oh yes for sure and when you’re pregnant it’s free! But I guess if you can’t afford it after 18 years old there’s a chance they might go bad. Super important to look after your teeth though so worth spending a bit of extra money on them
Puzzled-Horse279@reddit
I mean surely by teenager/adulthood people should know how to properly take care of their dental and oral health/hygeine. Without needing the dentist to tell them what to do or operate on them.
ThisizhollZ@reddit
Well everybody is different aren’t they? Like diets, being taught by their parents at a young age to floss or how to brush, smoking etc. Then when something does go wrong (cracked tooth on a piece of food or something) they might not be able to afford to repair it, therefore it’s a downward spiral!
Illustrious-Divide95@reddit
That we're either very posh tiop hat wearing semi royals or Cockney chimney sweeps and all have terrible teeth.
Ignatiussancho1729@reddit
To be fair, I started noticing the teeth a lot more after having lived in the US for a while. It's not everyone, but on average you'll see more people with a mouth like a witchdoctor's necklace than across the pond
Orange_Codex@reddit
That we can't own guns.
Civilian guns far outnumber the police.
Aggravating-Day-2864@reddit
That we have a special relationship with america....
SheilaCool@reddit
That we all have a stiff upper lip. We're human too 😂
ThisizhollZ@reddit
That we have bad food! Surely they’ve never had fish and chips on a sunny day or a lovely roast dinner on a Sunday or really nice fry up when feeling hungover!
LongRodVaughnDong@reddit
Better food then Nordic countries, worse food than southern Europe.Â
Cakeo@reddit
I stand by that food isn't a tier list.
Its there to be enjoyed, not everything has to be a master class in cooking.
The only issue I see is people in the UK lacking pride in cooking like other countries.
mogrim@reddit
That and the US internet repeating the shitty joke about "the UK conquered the world to get spices but never actually use them".
From the country whose national food is the hamburger, and they add sugar to it.
cjdstreet@reddit
Southern Europe is glorified struggle meals
LongRodVaughnDong@reddit
As opposed to the struggle meals in the UK?Â
cjdstreet@reddit
Yes
LongRodVaughnDong@reddit
I’m of the opinion that European food is overrated compared to Middle East/Asia and Latin American food. Those regions make British foods look bland and dull in comparisonÂ
cjdstreet@reddit
Its an uneducated opinion based on stereotypes
Adorable_Past9114@reddit
That we are nice people. We are murderous bastards, only the thin veneer of politeness stops us from topping the murder tables.
Think about that for a minute, it's in our DNA which is a distillation of the most warlike people of Europe, Britons, Romans, Picts, celts, angles, Saxons, jutes, Danes, Normans.
Each one of them more violent than their predecessor but instead of exterminating and replacing the previous population they were assimilated and integrated.
Resistance is useless
maceion@reddit
That they all think the same.
Apricot_Oasis@reddit
That cities are really close together.
I once had someone from the US saying, after I told him I lived in the north east of England, that he’d stayed near there - next to the London Eye…
Two neighbouring cities, and even two neighbouring towns, can be worlds apart. Just because we don’t have the same landmass as other countries, doesn’t mean there isn’t a vast amount of diversity.
Low_Understanding_85@reddit
We all have tits for toes.
cymruaj@reddit
Speak for yourself. I'm very happy with my 10 extra nipples thank you
Technical-Vanilla-47@reddit (OP)
Yes. Forgot to add that word.
Low_Understanding_85@reddit
We are not sarcastic either.
barrybreslau@reddit
Apparently people think we are phlegmatic. This might apply to some very upper class people, but definitely does not apply to British people as a whole.
EatingCoooolo@reddit
That they all drink a lot of tea
ElJayEm80@reddit
That we drink a lot of tea. We don’t. We make a lot of tea. We set it down somewhere, get on with a task, forget it’s there, then when we come to drink it, it’s cold. Throw it out, make a fresh one, and the cycle starts again.
SnooDonuts6494@reddit
There are so many.
One is that we're all "white" whereas 1/4 are not.
Geejay-18@reddit
We're all interested in the royal family.
Lazy_Hamster169@reddit
Were all polite? 😂 and posh voices you hear for british people in films is fairly rare, theres 40+ accents in england alone never mind the rest of the UK.
ExcitingWinter1800@reddit
"Dry British humour" and it's just some Oxford-educated celebrity being rude about the lower classes.Â
