Is this gap in my air filter housing a problem?

I was trying to replace my engine air filter, but after putting the lid back on, there is this gap in the housing around the air intake hose (I assume?) there is no gap where the filtered air goes into the engine. The filter is the same size as the old one, I followed every YouTube tutorial I could find. It’s a 2018 Ford Escape.

Yeah, that’s a problem. Unfiltered air gets through there.
Take it apart as much as you need to to get it reassembled properly.
