looking for good website recommendations for modifications on this thing. And any input period. I'm thinking coilovers, black, and slowly modifying as it goes. but want to see what's out there for companies who make parts for these. AI helped with the vision. thanks.

American steel buildings. My brother's, don't know much about it other than it was expensive.

Hell yes, as long as the frame is good, that is a great starting point for a project. I love the whole profile of this car, would look sick lowered, but try it on some 18s first, anything bigger will be too much. Good luck and keep us posted.

It's been in my family about 40 years. We have the original 389, but a 400 with the tri power sits in it currently.

That's awesome, not only is it a sick project but the family connection makes it that much more special. Treat her well and she'll be good for another couple generations.

Leave the patina. Fix the worst of the rust. Build a piston hot 400 for it and hook it to a TKX.

Matte black is super played out IMO, give it a nice classic color. I always love the light blue metallic ones.

Deserves better than flat black, man. At least give it a proper metallic black.
You could do the 2K rattle clear as well, and end up with very commendable results if you don’t get skimpy on the application.

Plum Crazy purple, don't slam it.

Great ride! It looks iconic from every angle, but the side🤣. That long trunk lid is so different from what I’ve long gotten used to.

Black is kinda boring and gets dirty and starts to look ratty very fast. If this were a Chebby Malibu or something, fine, but I'd go with something more showy than what is essentially primer black on a GTO. I'm also not a fan of rubber band tires on classic cars.
For parts, Ames Performance is the best source for Pontiacs.

I really love deep purple for GTOs of this gen: https://youtu.be/wT-dxiwKTI8?is=o557V1N9Q6RVZK05

That's slick.
