Did you or anyone you know ever go on stars in their eyes?

Just watching some old episodes on YouTube (because I know how to spend a good Sunday afternoon clearly!) and it made me think... I've never met anyone who was on it, or who knew someone who was. currently watching an episode with a bloke from Bournemouth who looked the splitting image of meatloaf!

I went to see it being recorded at Granada studios. Weirdly I thought of it today as Midnight Train to Georgia came on while I was in the supermarket, and one of the contestants was Gladys Knight and sang that song. I don't think she won, though.

Yeah on the childrens edition a boy in the year above went on, Alyn Hawke, did walking in the air, didn't win, but it was a huge deal for a little Welsh school at the time. He went on to success, we went to see Beauty and the Beast in the Wales Millenium stadium a few years ago and he was playing The Beast :)

My high school maths teacher went on it doing Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis and would "let" us watch it at Christmas and brag that he lost to the guy who won the series in general that year as Bob Marley

NortonBurns@reddit
No, but a friend of mine went on the X Factor.
They took the merciless piss out of him and used him as one of their 'comedic fails'.
