How do I go about reporting a website to the police?

Browsing reddit , as usual , I came across some fuck up shit, including Art of zoo when I put it into google , I found at least two sights hosting beastility content, it was well it was f****** awful.

Obviously the online safety act doesn't seem to have an issue with it ( although it has issues my local councils , images lol) so I want to know how I got back reporting this to be investigated and hopefully , you know , f****** blocked or taken down.

I understand going off the titles and languages These aren't english made videos , but I m sure they can block the websit

I'd respectfully suggest, OP, that you have a clear and unambiguous narrative to give to any authorities you reach out to over this matter.

Your message says you looked at some fuck[ed] up shit here on Reddit, and that you then typed terms you had discovered (inspired to do so after looking at this material?) into Google. Our friends in uniform might perceive that as you intentionally seeking out extreme pornography.

There is a possibility that you might be forced to surrender your phone and laptop for forensic searches of your internet history, hopefully to be returned at some point in the future when of course you are cleared of any wrongdoing. But that won't happen overnight. It might also result in you being placed (temporarily, until you're exonerated, of course) on a register, and have access to under 18's restricted. Does your employer require you to hold DBS clearance? That could be halted with immediate effect.

There's also the social opprobrium that would likely follow you around, which could be harder to shake off than you might think once you're in the clear.

I speak from a position of (some) knowledge on this. In my former military career, some of those under my command and care were habitual fucker-uppers, no matter what one did to bring out the best in them.

It might be worth considering these matters carefully before acting.

Same way that you'd report anything else to the rozzers. You phone, or go on their website, or send an email.

That said, if the people making and running it aren't in the UK then there's not much they can do. No, they can't block it, there's not a special Cop Firewall around the whole country.

0800 555 111 which is Crime stoppers (Anonymously) or Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) website Anonymously. You must report this and it IS A POLICE matter but reporting it to here first will speed up the process.

Yes, animal cruelty is a crime. If they're doing it to animals then there's a high probability that they're doing it to children too. The least you can do is report and get a crime report number and then pass it on to IWF

It’s only really a police matter from a crime perspective if the content is hosted in the UK, or if the content is hosted by a UK citizen living in another country - but the chance of getting an extradition for someone hosting a zoophilia site in a foreign country is slim depending on the jurisdiction.

If the content is hosted in another country, the police can relay this to the country it is hosted in, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything will get done about it depending on the efficiency/interest that the authority has in it. As someone said elsewhere, you can flag it to the police but the most that will probably happen is that it may get referred to ISPs to block access under the OSA.

If you see it on Reddit, report it to AEO as well, but always report it to the IWF. I have seen some awful, awful things.

Folk selling it are weirdly proud of it, and generally easy to trace - I recommend removing, reporting (including to the IWF), not engaging (so they do not get spooked) and hoping for the best.

I am sorry if you have to see any of this and if it is on Reddit (I know that is not the case today) you can ALWAYS refer it to mods instead of dealing with it yourself.

Report it to the police via a non-emergency channel.

Then, do a WHOIS search on the domain name to find out who’s hosting the site. You can then contact the host. If they’re a reputable host, they will suspend the site sharply.

As for the “online safety act doesn’t seem to have an issue with it”, that’s not how it works at all. It’s not some magic act that automatically blocks or allows websites. A website has to self-enroll. Any one can set up a website.

NCSC has a reporting form, but seems to be targeted at.scams and phishing. I'd personally still report it there, I can't see that they'd ignore it or be mad it isn't specifically a scam attempt.

Following as I'm curious about this. Stumbled across a Youtube Channel that was a catalogue of all of Jimmy Saville's TV appearances with lots of people praising him. Felt grubby as hell, and I'm pretty sure the commentors are all paedos but I don't think posting on Youtube is a crime in itself.

The pedo community on YouTube is alarmingly vocal. My daughter has started getting into gymnastics and wanted to watch some big kids do flips and stuff.

I didn't need a reason to know I'd never post videos of her practising but holy shit did those comments sections really hammer the point home...
