I wanna save some money. I'm buying a 9070 XT for 1440p OLED gaming, so I need to save money on the CPU. I wanna max the fps per dollar. Which CPU to get, considering the prices:
• Ryzen 5 7600X (160€)
• Ryzen 5 9600X (215€)
• Ryzen 7 7700X (230€)
• Ryzen 7 9700X (290€)
• Ryzen 7 7800X3D (370€)
• Ryzen 7 9800X3D (440€)

Which types of games do you wanna play?
I would recommend getting the 7600X as that is a very good CPU.

This is the performance you can get

Mostly AAA with some competitive ones, like Rocket League and Valorant.

If you care about your competitive games at all, get the 7500x3d for the great value. Is the 7600x3d not available where you are? That performs almost like a 7800x3d especially after minor tuning but if not nbd, 7500x3d is still really good.

Get the 7600X/7600 mate. Will easily give you more than 160-200 FPS at 1440p

But I mean, why not get the 7500F then? The performance difference between the 7500F and 7600X is negligible. Although I have heard the 1% lows on OLED are much better on the X3D processors.

Your monitor being an oled doesnt matter at all for your fps

Yes, my bad, I didn't see 7500F on your list mate. 7500F is perfectly fine.

7800X3D if money is not the issue. 9800X3D if money is not the issue and you do some productivity stuff too.
7600X if money is an issue. 7700X if money is an issue and you do some productivity stuff.

I've got 7700 without X from AliExpress and works great! Bought it for around 175€

I’ve got a 7600x that kicks butt but honestly if you don’t care about an igpu save the money and go 7500f
Captobvious75@reddit
7600x has been a beast with my 9070xt

For mainly gaming the best options are 7500f/7500x3d/7800x3d/9800x3d each is the best gaming cpu in it's price class, while the 7500f and 7800x3d are currently the best fps per dollar

Best price to performance would be 7600x and 7500f, but I wouldn't recommend going lower than 7600x. The 7800x3d is good enough for stronger GPUs, especially at 4k. If you plan of upgrading to 4k in future, you'll be able to just upgrade the GPU and keep the 7800x3d. 7600x = save money now, balanced build for most games small CPU bottleneck in few ones 7800x3d = you won't need to upgrade for a long time and no games are bottlenecked. The v-cache will even slightly boost performance.

Whichever one you can afford between 7600X, 9600X, 7800X3D, or 9800X3D. All are solid choices.
