Which kid cereals do you secretly still enjoy?

I know these are loaded with sugar and not meant for adults but I secretly still buy these cereals that I ate as a kid: Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Fruity Pebbles.

Lucky Charms are pretty kick-ass
Krushingmentalhealth@reddit
Agree! Love Lucky Charms! Plus they’re gluten free. Chex and Cheerios get old after a while!

Apple Jacks and Kellogg’s Raisin Bran.
CatPurrsonNo1@reddit
Cocoa Pebbles and Cap’n Crunch are two of my favorites. It’s funny, because I wasn’t very into CC when I was a kid, but it hits differently now.
I miss Count Chocula, but I won’t eat the marshmallows now.
Tall-Yard-407@reddit
I had Booberry recently and I know I’m old now but they didn’t taste like I remember. Or maybe my tastebuds have given up working like they used to.
RuckusVell04@reddit
Sugar Pops, Cocoa Krispies, Fruit Loops. Luckily you can find them in small bags or boxes.
bitteryuckk@reddit
Reese’s puffs, I can’t buy a box bc it will be gone in a day.
Difficult_Clerk_1273@reddit
Cocoa pebbles, Golden Grahams, fruity pebbles, lucky charms.

Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. Tears the shit out of the roof of my mouth but damn it’s worth it sometimes
KittycatVuitton@reddit
I love the cups of cereal that Walmart sells for $1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles, etc
GroundbreakingRip970@reddit
I haven’t found any that hit the same. The only ones I will occasionally try for nostalgia sake anymore are Lucky Charms and Crunch Berry
DragonflyMomma6671@reddit
Honeycomb and frosted mini wheats.
I have lucky charms once a year when my kids get it for me for mother's Day tradition. That's what they always gave me when they were little.😊💜

Golden Crisp, Cocoa Puffs and Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Frosted Flakes, and Honey Nut Cheerios.
I wish they still had Alpha Bits, too.
loverofthings412@reddit
Oh man, I forgot about Alpa Bits. I freaking loved them
HonestlyRespectful@reddit
Yeah, I was the dork using my spoon to chase around the letters to make words. Pretty smart strategy for a product to help a young person learn even while doing a necessary activity like eating. They said they were bringing them back for a limited release last year. Must've missed it. Can buy some on ebay for $50!!! 😄
Infamous_Hyena_8882@reddit
Captain crunch
Comeoneileen1971@reddit
I buy them once in a while but they changed the recipes or something. Not good anymore.

Just had the Crunch Berries one. They're smaller pieces, too.

Or maybe you’re just bigger, so they seem smaller in comparison?

I so rarely have a kids cereal (or cereal at all outside of oatmeal when traveling)
However -- many hotel breakfast buffets have Fruit Loops. A handful is a tasty treat. :)
If I was going to buy a box, it'd be Lucky Charms. The marshmallows after soaking for a bit... mmmm
Unwashedbrainz@reddit
Lucky Charms for the win. Oh, and Apple Jacks.

Golden Grahams. They don’t taste as magical as they seemed to on the very rare occasions I managed to get some as a kid. But still, once in a while, I still grab a box, usually for vacations where we stay somewhere with a kitchen.
Czarsmama@reddit
Frosted Flakes. Also, I'll sometimes buy Corn Pops & eat them dry, right out of the box. I'm 59.

BillyyJackk@reddit
Correcting the record: Cinnamon Toast Crunch is everybody cereal, it doesn't discriminate, young - old - really old, all are welcome to enjoy, and you will.
PapaTua@reddit
Agreed. I treat it as a dessert now rather than a breakfast "meal", but it'll always be satisfying.
When I'm feeling extra, I'll eat it with half and half. Ooh, so naughty.
BillyyJackk@reddit
Bad bad man, but I like it
mhiaa173@reddit
Had some for dinner the other night because I didn't feel like making anything--no regrets ever!

zoidbert@reddit
A post I saw once: a guy said he overheard one of his kids telling the other about Lucky Charms; “you can’t just eat the marshmallows, you have to eat the cat food too”
You can also buy big bags of just those marshmallows on Amazon. I got a bag for my daughter one Christmas and for a while every cereal had those marshmallows in them.

Apple Jacks. The #1 most nutritious cereal ever. Read the side nutrients information. Take a picture of it. Try to match it with any cereal out there. There are no others that even come close. The best part of them is they taste as great as they’re good for you.

Back in the 80s there was a commercial where adults secretly confessed their love for Frosted Flakes. It was filmed like those "true crime" shows where the perp is in the dark and voice altered.
KimBrrr1975@reddit
Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch. Rarely eat it because it destroys the roof of my mouth these days 😂 But I get a small box every once in a while. I like Fruity and Cocoa pebbles, but they get soggy too fast. So I get those flavors for my protein powder 😆
LuLuMarie1313@reddit
Fruity Pebbles are the best!
petestein1@reddit
Fruity Pebbles and Lucky Charms and Frosted Mini-Wheats. I would happily inhale a box of any of those if I could avoid the stink-eye from my spouse and the incredulity from my kids.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a treat! We currently have Honey Nut Cheerios in the pantry but we don’t eat very much cereal 🥣 as a family
Mugwumps_has_spoken@reddit
Frosted Flakes can't be a kids cereal my 75 year old father still eats them, they are his favorite. lol. I don't care if they are in the kids section of cereals.
My not so secret favorite of kids cereals is Captain Crunch.
of could be either - Cinnamon Life and Frosted Mini wheats.

Fuck yeah. I’m 55 years old. I have a calcium score of zero, arteries are clear, blood pressure is fine. I exercise every day. Despite all this, my GP demands I adhere to a strict Mediterranean diet with statins because my total cholesterol is 225 regularly. I told her I’d incorporate it, but if you think I’m living the rest of my life with no ribeye or veal Parmesan, you’re mistaken.

Doctor: Do you smoke weed or do any drugs?
Guy: no
Doctor: Do you eat sweets or fatty foods?
Guy: no, neither of those
Doctor: Do you eat a lot of red meat?
Guy: No, I’m vegan.
Doctor: Any risky activities?
Guy: Nope
Doctor: Why the fuck do you want to live to be 100?

Honestly I don’t enjoy any of them. The older I get, the less I crave overly sweet things.
Even when I do eat prefab, cold milk breakfast cereals, I lean to least sweet possible.
Bran flakes with raisins, plain Cheerios style, grape nuts, et cetera.
Even as a youth, probably the only one I really liked was “Cracklin’ Oat Bran”, which was just a bowl of oatmeal cookies shaped like Os.
Fun-Ingenuity-9089@reddit

Fruity Pebbles, Captain Crunch, Froot Loops, Life, Frosted Mini Wheats. Those are all in the pantry right now along with Raisin Bran and Corn Flakes.

There’s a Malt-o-Meal cereal called cocoa dyno-bites with marshmallows. It comes in a gigantic bag. About once a year I allow myself to buy a bag. It doesn’t last long - cereal for breakfast and lunch for days. My blood sugar hates it, but sometimes I just can’t resist.

Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles. I feel like the texture is just perfect- light and flakey so it doesn’t cut your gums like Capn Crunch, but doesn’t get soggy easily either.
I also still love Golden Grahams.
i-am-jjm@reddit
I would love to enjoy Captain Crunch but I stopped eating processed food about 15 years ago. Best was university days breakfast captain crunch and soft serve chocolate ice cream.
andyr072@reddit
So the reason you stopped eating it was because it was processed or rather than the fact that it rips the roof of your mouth to shreds. 😃
Nickey_Pacific@reddit
Cocoa Pebbles are the ultimate kid cereal choice. Currently obsessed and have two family size boxes in the pantry. It's just me and the other half here and he rarely eats cereal. So, mostly mine 😂
mmmmmarty@reddit
Apple Jacks and The Captain
turkeyvulturebreast@reddit
Unfortunately, I don’t eat breakfast anymore on the regular. So I wouldn’t buy any cereal because it would just go stale. I don’t drink milk or milk replacement beverages so if I did happen to pick up cereal I would need to get that too.
Hmmm, but I am into craft cocktails and there is something called clarified milk punch cocktails and this would work great. Cap’n Crunch Berry cocktail sounds wonderful. I am going to create cereal themed cocktails now!

I’m not at all secretive. One of the few joys of being an adult is getting to unapologetically eat whatever you want. Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, and Reese’s Puffs are my favorites. My husband likes Coco Puffs and Coco Pebbles.

All the same ones I used to eat as a kid. Lucky Charms, Capn Crunch, Apple Jacks, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Life. Recently I’ve been on a Frosted Mini Wheats kick, which I guess is my body trying to pretend I’m eating “adult” cereal, or maybe just trying to sneak some fiber into my “kids” cereal habits.

My mom was crazy strict about cereal growing up in the 80s, so I only ever got Total (if I was lucky), Grape Nuts, plain unfrosted shredded wheat, and Bran Flakes. She even said Raisin Bran was too much sugar! When we went on road trips I remember being obsessed with Cheerios and Frosted Flakes at the hotels, and the milk was HEAVENLY. My mom said it was because it was this gross thing called whole milk and that you could see the globs of fat floating in it. She had an eating disorder if it wasn’t obvious, and only ever let me have skim that she had double skimmed herself. IDGAF - Hotel milk was amazing.
So now I fucking love cereal and my husband and I have it for dinner about once a week. My sweet spot is for Golden Grahams and Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, but I’d forgotten about Cinnamon Life someone mentioned, that shit was amazing. We do have a bowl of Raisin Bran first just to get our fiber, but then we get our favorite. Always with Fairlife whole milk, I realize it’s more calories but holy shit it’s worth it.
Material_Pangolin851@reddit
Grew up on Bran Flakes, so I loved sleepovers at my friend's next door as they had all the sweet cereals (Count Chocula, Frankenberry, etc). As an adult I have Honey Nut Cheerios in my regular rotation, which I cut with regular Cheerios or Alpen cuz guilt. Not really a kid cereal, but Maple and Brown Sugar Mini-Wheats were also on rotation till they were discontinued. That was the best mini-wheat flavour IMO. Still love Froot Loops and Cap’n Crunch

Cocoa pebbles are so amazingly delicious. That texture/crunch in your mouth! Ugh! However-- in the past year or so, whenever I eat them, I start to feel physically sick shortly after, like within 30 mins I regret eating them because I feel jittery and just not well. It's tragic.
EnvironmentalDelay66@reddit
