What are good inland UK places to hunt for fossils? Ideally between London and Cambridge but interested in any. 🦴

The coasts are famously amazing for it, but what about inland? I've read the web guides out there, but interested in redittors' experiences. ☝️

Jurassic fossils including Plesiosaur and some dinosaurs are found at Abingdon. Sort of the opposite way to which you are looking for though--more towards Oxford than Cambridge.

Time to share my all time favourite website!!!!

Looks like there's a few good sites around Cambridge area! I haven't gone to any personally but it is a goal of mine to fossil hunt in as many counties as possible. There's other locations around the UK on the site and it does make suggestions about what you're likely to find, if tools are needed etc
Good luck with your hunt :)

There is the Jurassic coast which is literally named after the fossils they found there. But a little far from where you're at.

First, the fossils are named after the coast, not the other way around. And second, OP specifically asked for inland areas.

No. That's incorrect on both counts. Work on your reading comprehension.
