For anyone interested in finding out more information. I have everything you need to know here: https://forum.hifiguides.com/t/primary-arms-special-purchase-1-6x24-sfp/46986
RetMech@reddit
Any chance we'll see a 1.5-12 review before the end of the year?
C_Does@reddit
PA just reached out to me about getting one for me soon. I'm hoping in the next few months the latest.
aeopossible@reddit
The man has spoken. This is the only post necessary in this thread lol.
C_Does@reddit
Your flatter me. And I agree with your statement 🤌
aeopossible@reddit
Your videos have saved me a decent bit of money lol. I literally have is SP scope sitting in one of the cheap UTG mounts because of your videos haha. Banging on a budget over here.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Same
Mypeepeeteeny@reddit
How about the vortex 1-6? I think I got it for the same price but never used it
C_Does@reddit
The venom? That too is a excellent little low budget lpvo. It just has different features and overall setup compared to this. The largest being ones Chinese, and the other is Filipino.
alargealligator@reddit
I have a plxc and unless I’m planing to shoot past 200yds I prefer my SP Nova in almost every category expect weight and “flatness” of the image at 1X on the edges of the glass
C_Does@reddit
I concur.
TheMorningDove@reddit
Can you tell me how this compares to the standard SLX NOVA 1-6? Is there anything different other than lower illumination?
TheRagingBull84@reddit
Im a sucker for PA anything so ordered one this morning.
Excited to try the Philippines glass.
I do really like my SLX nova 1-6 so be interesting to see how this compares.
Sal-LeMandeur@reddit
I was about to say I don't know how this could beat my 1-6 Burris - but if they're both using Filipino glass well, same same.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Deferent reticles. The Burris is better option for 6x with an offset.
Kuna_help_you@reddit
Note: These Special Purchase 1-6X ACSS Nova riflescopes were found to have an illumination brightness that did not meet our expectations and are therefore being sold at a deeply discounted price due to this blemish.
Disclaimer from the website.
jtj5002@reddit
That just means it will burn a hole in your skull on setting 10 instead of setting 8. I have both the SP nova and the standard Nova.
lambda_six@reddit
How much better is the SP (in everything except brightness of course)? Worth an upgrade?
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Upgrade over what?
Odd-Internet-3876@reddit
Just saw the the C_Does comparison...but taking into account his Conti 1-8 review, would it be worth spending the extra $150 for that instead.... ?

This optic and the Venom are basically the same price. This has less brightness than it’s supposed to have. Isn’t that the main advantage of this optic over the Venom? Any reason to not just go Venom?
WhatAboutTheBothans@reddit
I have both. The venom is better, in no small part because the zoom ring on the PA is ridiculously stiff and hard to adjust. Go venom.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
very stiff
Swagtagonist@reddit
I think I will next time I see a deal on one with a mount
joman8390@reddit
These are different types of LPVOs, both are excellent in their class. The nova is a red dot bright simple reticle, essentially you can use it as a red dot with the added bonus of 6x magnification. So for quick target acquisition the nova will be better. The venom on the other hand has a more complicated reticle that can provide you ranging and other useful info. It has good illumination but it isn’t a red dot only like the nova. The venom is better at higher magnifications. In short I’d say that if want a lpvo focused on 1x performance get the nova if you want one focused on higher magnification, get the venom.

dicklibby@reddit
This will have better glass than the made in china venom
Veritech-1@reddit
Is this basically an SLx that didn't meet the illumination requirements they wanted?
notenoughtamamo@reddit
No, it’s made with better quality glass from the Philippines. SLx is Chinese glass. As far as brightness goes, it’s a step down from the regular Nova, but still very bright. Mine is extremely visible in full daylight even against light-colored surfaces
Veritech-1@reddit
Thanks, so it's sort of it's own thing? I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what this product was supposed to be before it was deemed not bright enough for standard stock.
notenoughtamamo@reddit
Yeah, I’m not really sure what exactly it was supposed to be, bc it’s not quite an SLx or GLx. Maybe they were trying to make something new and it didn’t work out. Either way, great scope for the price
Spence52490@reddit
I knew as soon as I got this email this would be posted here lol.
IllSkyHelix111@reddit
i mean who among us doesn't want to be part of a SPECIAL PURCHASE?!?
jeojoe524@reddit
Just bought two since I missed out last time!
Also since someone else commented u/C_Does 1-6x comparison video, here's his stand alone one for it: Primary Arms Special Purchase 1-6x24 LPVO - One Of The Best,
BABOON2828@reddit
I was actually looking for this video when I posted the sub $500 LPVO comparison but for some reason it must have been removed from YT. Thanks for sharing, now I'll know where to look next to time.
C_Does@reddit
I got my first flag from YT for that video for SOME reason.
C_Does@reddit
Thank you for the shout out mate!
jensen_lover@reddit
The reviews make it seem red dot bright. But isn’t that what makes these so cheap, not as bright as it should be?
Also, I believed when these first came out it was a one and done situation. But they keep being sold. So I guess these are essentially blems or out of spec in some way but PA doesn’t want to call them blems.
GildSkiss@reddit
jensen_lover@reddit
I thought that’s what made it “Special Purchase”, the dim illumination. The glass clarity is excellent. I guess I wrongly assumed they were all dim.
jtj5002@reddit
I have both SP aurora and nova. Aurora is worthless and the nova is still burn a fucking hole in your skull bright on 10. So yes they are still red dot bright, you just have the wrong scope from what the reviews are talking about.
BABOON2828@reddit
I own two of the Nova SP and one of the Aurora SP, the Aurora has truly abysmal illumination but both of my Nova versions are visible even in a snow covered field on a sunny day. They aren't burn your reticles nuclear bright like a bright RD on max illumination, but they are more than bright enough for any environment I can think of.
luvmehatemefme@reddit
I bought a couple of these when they first came around. Mine are bright but they dont have all the brightness settings for adjustability. Instead of 10 there is like 4 -5. Not sure if they are all similar.
HappyLocksmith8948@reddit
I’m not a LPVO/ optics snob with tons of LPVO to compare to, but I can say I really really like mine. Tempted to buy a 2nd just to have
SamBaxter420@reddit
lol I’m in the same boat. I have three extra red dots and two lights with no more guns to mount them to. Still trying to decide what I want to purchase to mount them to
BABOON2828@reddit
Since it seems that every time these come back the same exact questions and conversation happens all over again, here's the answers:
