Who returns an item two months after buying it “because it didn’t work out”
quinyd@reddit
While the OP is unfortunate, I’ve never heard of a company that just accepts a return after 2months? Maybe 14 or 30 days but wouldn’t you figure out if the decide is working for you within less than 2months?
huskypuppers@reddit
Costco is 90 days on computers.

European countries may have laws regarding this sort of thing. I don’t know, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if
quinyd@reddit
EU has 14 days return though. I live here 😊
Diavolo_Rosso_@reddit
I’m honestly surprised it’s such a short window. I thought for sure the EU would have a more liberal policy on this than here in the U.S.
MarkSuckerZerg@reddit
14 days "no reason with refund", then 2 years warranty
FatBook-Air@reddit
That's surprisingly not very generous.
Far_Calligrapher1334@reddit
I don't think so, for the large corps a bigger window would be whatever, but small businesses could get pretty screwed by this. Keep in mind, this window is for everything aside from consumables.
quinyd@reddit
Why would you need more than 2 weeks? If you can’t make up your mind in 2 weeks that’s on you. Also 2y warranty is much better than the US. And the warranty is through the seller not the manufacturer so I never have to deal with any manufacturer BS, I’ll just go to the store I purchased it from and they will deal with it.

Just seems very anti-consumer to me.

Two of these things are not like the other two.
From framework's return policy page:
Two components known to be scalper targets, he maxes out on those two, then claims a botched return after it "didn't work out"?
Something stinks here.
dethb0y@reddit
Yeah that's pretty weird, honestly.

Just buy a Mac next time.

My condolences. Guess this is why I always have bought DELL. DELL has 30 day return policy, although they do have stipulations. I have never had to return any DELL desktop, laptop or server, though.
Your experience reminds me of the ONE TIME I decided to switch things up and try a laptop from System76. Overpriced POS, in my opinion - could not believe they charged me so much for what I received. So, being thoroughly dissatisfied and feeling cheated, I returned it and I got hit with a $400+ USD restocking fee because it was "used". I sent it back the day after I received it - didn't even use the damn thing.
Buyer beware.
I'm so sorry for your bad fortune - you parked out a lot of hard earned money for that. How utterly disparaging.
Isofruit@reddit
I mean, the DELL 30 days return policy likely wouldn't have helped here, they had the laptop from 16th December 2025 to 20th of Febuary of 2026. That's over 60 days.
Assuming Framework took less than 30days to send the laptop, he had definitely over a month with it before returning it.

Reach out to LTT. Linus is part owner. Maybe if this gets traction on his channel…
AuDHDMDD@reddit
LTT doesn't have the best history of handling PR issues
ghanadaur@reddit
Any negative press on LTT on account of FrameWork would surely raise eyebrows regardless. If anything it would raise the issue to more than just those on this sub.
580083351@reddit
It's not his fault though. He's just an investor.
ghanadaur@reddit
But as a significant investor, he has pull. And has shown to have this desire to make it better.
580083351@reddit
Maybe, but if I recall, he only invested like 200k.. that's chump change if he has 85 million.
ghanadaur@reddit
As an investor, we ALL want to see it grow. Chump change or not.
HalcyonRedo@reddit
What the hell does this have to do with Linux?
MatchingTurret@reddit
While this sucks for you, why do you think this is relevant to r/linux?
