Whole Foods Hot Bar Chicken Tenders

Chicken was dry and has some stupid breading. Probably sitting under heat lamps too long. Priced at $12/lb. Still ate and devoured the mac & cheese and orange chicken though. 👍

Why did you buy that? It literally looks raw
Appropriate-Sun834@reddit
So they could come post here for attention of course
Appropriate-Sun834@reddit
You saw this and bought it? Anything for attention I suppose
Staggerme@reddit
WF has fallen so far since it was bought out. It’s not the same store it was other than its name

I remember when they opened up a WF on my college campus many years ago. The food bar was incredible. It was also pretty easy to steal food from there so shout out to them for holding me down when I had $0.71 in my bank account
ZestycloseProject130@reddit
If you see someone stealing food. No you didn't.
fartsonyourmom@reddit
I was scratching my eyes. Did I miss something?
ZestycloseProject130@reddit
Nope!
fartsonyourmom@reddit
Fair enough! Have a good day. 😀

They used to have so many tasty vegan options on the bar. Now it’s just tendies, lasagne, and orange chicken.

I was visiting Santa Cruz area recently and stopped into a store I think called staff of life. Great products. Tons of stuff I would have loved to try. Hot bar with tons of veggie stuff, beans, rices, chicken, etc. $9/pound. I was blown away
Pink_Neons@reddit
You can only blame yourself. You pick it out and look at it before purchasing
cappiebara@reddit
Thank you! This person chose these. Why did they choose these? There are so many options at Whole Foods deli bar. 😆
d1ckj3rk1ns@reddit
Damn usually whole foods is on poiny
Leader_Bud@reddit
You mean that catfish there?
neep_pie@reddit
The Whole Foods hot and salad bars used to be luxurious. What I've seen recently is not luxurious at all. It seems to have gone downhill. We could likely blame Covid, but probably Jeff Bezos is a more likely suspect.

So terrible. Whole foods tenders are a blight on the world of chicken

why did you put that abomination in your box?

I truly believe that the Mac & Cheese at Whole Foods’ Hot Bar is overrated. Doesn’t even LOOK good to me. I would MUCH rather pick up a frozen Mac & Cheese (I like the one by Tillamook), and make it at home. I get it, though: You’re out & about, and hungry RIGHT THEN & THERE. So you scratch the itch. But when it can be helped, frozen is better. Same with the chicken strips.
s_decoy@reddit
When I worked there in 2019 the recipe for the mac and cheese sauce was a bag of premade alfredo sauce and two bags of pre-shredded cheddar lol.
Princess_Slagathor@reddit
I don't understand how they make mac and cheese look dry.
nakedsniper@reddit
whole foods hot bar mac has the taste and texture of stouffers
kimtaro1@reddit
Op chooses to go to the whole foods hot bar on a regular basis, picks the food himself, and bitches about it on this sub over and over again.
drsmith48170@reddit
Yeah the big bar at whines used to be so good and affordable; now it is expensive and sus
f1lth4f1lth@reddit
overpriced and underspiced
Tasty-Performer6669@reddit
Maison_@reddit
I bet all of that cost about $25
0_Moth@reddit
I used to work at Whole Foods for several years. I just wanna let you know that there’s hardly anything on the hot bar that’s actually made in stores anymore. Even the macaroni is shipped in a giant bag. Its all fake. F A K E
UseDue6373@reddit
$12lb is ridiculous
AppUnwrapper1@reddit
In NY it’s $14/lb :/
TEHKNOB@reddit
It’s wild that WF would stand behind that but the profit margin must be wicked.
GerbilFeces@reddit
I used to work at whole foods and would eat these occasionally because they were warm and in proximity and on discount to me, but I have no idea why any self respecting person not tethered to the store would voluntarily become a repeat customer at the hot bar. All of it is so stale and expensive, and whole foods are never in in food desserts. If theres a whole foods, theres probably five different fast casual options in the same parking lot.
AdventurousRoll9798@reddit
It that meatloaf in the bottom right corner.

These are 2 type of people at the Whole Foods bar:
1) the fatties who load up on Mac n cheese, chicken tenders and Chinese food
2) healthy people who get the salad bar and the modest choices
Stephanblackhawk@reddit
the mac n cheese tho 👀
Neruwi@reddit
Looks like it fell into sand
Ceepeenc@reddit
And you bought that shit??
potliquorz@reddit
Publix better watch out cause Whole Foods is coming for them. This actually resembles fucked up catfish somewhat.
Nonlethalrtard@reddit
Mac n cheese looks ok though

That perfect sweet spot where the chicken looks both undercooked and overcooked.
