I always wanted to figure out a way to play that weird game with the sticks and that little thing that looked like a falafel lol

Pee Wees.
Asleep_Onion@reddit
Same! I even tried to make it in my garage out of wood when I was a kid
Pastel_Phoenix_106@reddit
Nightmare? I'm house broken! One of my all time faves. I still watch it every holiday season.
Free_Manufacturer521@reddit (OP)
It was definitely one of my favorites as a kid, but you can't deny that it's terrifying lol
bynaryum@reddit
I’ve never found it terrifying. Endearing actually. I still watch it occasionally.
Pastel_Phoenix_106@reddit
Ahhhhh the Bogeymen!!!
Free_Manufacturer521@reddit (OP)
And the evil dude! That fucking warlock looking mf-er lol
NYTravelerBD@reddit
I rewatched it this Christmas when I was home sick with the flu. What a wild fever dream. Barnaby pretending to turn the 3 little pigs into sausage. A poor monkey sewed into an imitation Mickey Mouse costume. The hairy bogeymen lifting babies out of their cribs. And it was supposed to be a children's movie!

I haven’t about this is years!!! I would watch this all the time! I can still remember little bo peep so well! I had no idea there was a remake. Yeah, come to think of it.... it was pretty Damm scary!

I think it's (the original) available on Tubi, I'm gonna watch it this evening and maybe eat a ton of popcorn and cake so that I make it historically accurate lol
Attic-Music@reddit
Where is the love for the Annette Funicello version?
Annual-District9825@reddit
That’s the ONLY one we watched!
mysocalledmayhem@reddit
It was one of my faves and I watched it wayyyy too frequently.
You-Asked-Me@reddit
I watched the 1986 version with Drew Barrymore and Keanu.
Knight_thrasher@reddit
Yup this is the one I remember. As an adult it’s so bad but I love its cheesyness
DirtyBirdDawg@reddit
That's the version that I remember (I think), if it was one that was made for TV. I think it aired on NBC one year.
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit
I watched both. The Laurel and Hardy version on Thanksgiving. The Drew/Keanu version around Christmas time.
Holmes221bBSt@reddit
I watched the Drew Barrymore & Keanu Reeves one
ChaoticForkingGood@reddit
I hated that movie!
PatchworkGirl82@reddit
I remember it airing on my local public access every Christmas! I love the sheer weirdness of it, especially the Mickey Mouse monkey.
Free_Manufacturer521@reddit (OP)
Omg the Micky Mouse monkey 😭
fromthedarqwaves@reddit
Never heard of it until I saw the adult store in Seattle called Toys in Babeland and someone explained to me how it’s a play on Babes in Toyland.
fyrefly_faerie@reddit
We watch this every holiday. We love Laurel and Hardy movies
AbbreviationsGlad833@reddit
I did! It was always my favorite. But I was always disappointed the toy soildiers never fired their rifles at the hairy cave monster guys. I think one cannon was fired.
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit
Ah, The Hayes Code. Kept anything too "salacious" from happening.
Free_Manufacturer521@reddit (OP)
I thought some of them got stabbed with the bayonets!
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit
I still watch this every Thanksgiving morning. I own it on DVD. Thanksgiving wouldn't feel right without it. I never found it scary. It's just charming with a few parts that genuinely make me chuckle.
Senior-Design-7220@reddit
The best
cityfullofrain@reddit
Still watch every* Thanksgiving in NYC, where it's paired with the L&H "Live Ghost" short after.
*Except for those few random years when the network decided to ruin tradition with football or whatever.
DustedGorilla82@reddit
We went to a live performance at the Keswick theater in 2nd grade!
SalukiKnightX@reddit
I remember watching it as a kid but kinda tuned out. That said, I’m among the schmucks that remember vividly the Drew Barrymore, Keanu Reeves & Pat Morita incarnation from the 80’s, mostly because it taught me how to spell Cincinnati.
kabbage_with_hair@reddit
Never watched the movie, but I'm a big fan of the band.
