Car 1: “The American Dream” a custom 100 foot long limo with a jacuzzi and helipad on the back
Final Car: Custom-made for the Pink Panther television show publicity campaign
I would post facts and reasons for the other cars, but the logic behind them seems to just have been “I built it because I thought it would be fun and cool” and that’s where the info stops. The green bathtub car seems to have been on Jay Leno’s talk show briefly, that’s kinda cool.
AccomplishedPlankton@reddit
The first one is owned by Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimsdale Dimmadome
mattfromeurope@reddit
Where they play Crash Nebula?
The_Shadow-King@reddit
Came here to say this lol
echardcore@reddit
4 all day for me. The weirdest thing ever. Couldn't even imagine it moving anywhere normal other than a fieldnor parking lot.
micholob@reddit
The white limo is at Dezerland in Orlando. It was 'restored' a few years ago after sitting outside abandoned for decades. Its a giant pile of shit when you see it up close.
CloudKitchen1924@reddit (OP)
What's wrong with it? It looks decent enough in photos
micholob@reddit
The body work is terrible, really terrible. The paint looks like it was brushed on. There are parts where they didn't even sand the bondo. The windows down the side are all fake. They were originally real judging from the photos I've seen of it before it was fixed. The roof is just black paint with sand in it, not a real vinyl roof. The tires that are on it are all rotten original ones but they put a fresh coat of paint on them.
CloudKitchen1924@reddit (OP)
It seems that all of the photos of it have been left vague enough to obscure these details, I am very disappointed to learn that it was badly refurbished.
Weneeddietbleach@reddit
So The American Dream- did it ever turn or did it just go forward and backwards? It's probably the most impractical car I've ever seen.
CloudKitchen1924@reddit (OP)
To my knowledge it was mostly kept on display, although some sources indicate it had a very particular route it would go down at times. The route was just a straight line from the garage to another point and back again
LambSmacker@reddit
And I thought I’d seen some dumb shit in my days lol
carrynarcan@reddit
I remember the Jacuzzi limo from a guinness book of world records book in elementary school. Thought that was the coolest thing and a must-have for when I became rich.
Now I'm wondering why a helicopter would require a helipad a few feet up off the ground. Isn't any flat surface suitable to land a helicopter on? What is the purpose other than maybe a floor-is-lava situation? Wasted space they could have used for something actually practical, like biggerJacuzzi or vault for storing all my gold coins.
CloudKitchen1924@reddit (OP)
I think it was elevated to absorb the shock of the copter landing, you don’t want it to thud down on the metal if the rest of the car and shake things around
carrynarcan@reddit
But why do you need to land on the car at all? I understand private yacht, maybe, but on a car means you really have to aim.
worldspawn00@reddit
So you can drive it places, helicopters have short range compared to other aircraft.
notjordansime@reddit
even small personal whirlybirds can get 300-500 km on a single tank. Honestly probably cheaper and definitely faster to just crow-hop it to the destination, one leg at a time.
worldspawn00@reddit
Yeah, but then you're not traveling in the luxury of a 30m limo for everything but the last hop.
Forza_Harrd@reddit
Keep in mind the alternative is a helicopter that can carry your limo everywhere. Which would be impractical. /s
worldspawn00@reddit
Dammit Jay, build me a stretch chinook for my limo!
DanGleeballs@reddit
Rofl
notjordansime@reddit
I suppose for hauling it somewhere.. but who are we kidding, are we going to pretend that any of this makes sense? It’s also horribly built, practically useless inside, and nearly impossible to drive anywhere. Also, I believe the helipad is actually only good for touch and go’s. Not meant to bear the dynamic load on the road.
I recall seeing a YouTube video about this, or a similar project. A woman had to ride a cart to get from the front to the back because there wasn’t enough headroom to walk. To get in the front, you had to awkwardly climb over this metal bar that was required for structural support.
UU2Bcool@reddit
I just out in Florida and saw that limo less than month ago. The back windows are just vinyl stickers and it had a surprising amount of white duct tape, holding the panels together. It looked good from a distance but from 10 feet or less you can see it’s made out of garbage. But hey, it breaks a record!
AzureBelle@reddit
it's so you can take your copter with you, drive somewhere, then fly the copter from there. does it make sense? not really, as such a vehicle as that limo will never do more than be set up for display.
Shot_Reputation1755@reddit
Because it kicks ass
AccordingTaro4702@reddit
Ya know, I never considered the heli pad situation. Good point. In any case, I've been aware of that car since I saw it as a kid in the Guinness book. Apparently it's in a museum in Orlando now, after some ups and downs. I'm going to make a trip to see it some day, in tribute to my ten year old self.

Canyonero.
DriedUpSquid@reddit
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts.
ekinnee@reddit
65 tons? That’s like as much as an Abrams tank.
malachimusclerat@reddit
no matter how long you make a car, it can still drive down any straight road. but where do you even take a double wide car? this one can't go off road, it can only exist on highways and parking lots. truly transcends the rest.
hujassman@reddit
I'd stick that crazy thing on some pontoons and use it on the water.
Music2my3ar@reddit
Ya put it on the water and ruin it immediately instead of just throwing down a cheap floating platform lol
AC-burg@reddit
The pink one with the heart hottub in the back I have seen in person. Its at a movie car museum in Las Vegas
XenophiliusRex@reddit
Cadimaran
nailbunny2000@reddit
That one is easily my favourite.
I've seen the 1st one in person, absolutely comical.
worldspawn00@reddit
Should have made it a putting green floor!
AxelDominatoR@reddit
The limousine from the cartoon "Beverly Hills Teens" must have been inspired by these cars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu2eawfTiCM (limo shown just a couple of seconds into the intro).
DryBlame@reddit
I mean, I would not complain, but it would be hard to turn...in every curve?
gilligan1050@reddit
Car 1 is obviously owned by Doug Dimadome.

Someone screaming AI in 3,2…
smokeydonkey@reddit
The Hot Wheels toilet car is real?!
Forza_Harrd@reddit
I think it was a model kit you buy at one time. I had the last one (the pink panther) in a model when I was a kid.
GoredonTheDestroyer@reddit
EVIDENTLY, YES!

The Limo is in a museum somewhere, most of the others are in Ohrberg's private collection
wasabi1787@reddit
Wonder how many letters he received from Ferraris legal team
LazyboaR@reddit
God!
That was an age when cars were almost like a mobile art form!
But now we only have bland looking, streamlined, AI infused block of a vehicle that are a mere click away from getting turned into a subscription scheme for corpos...
GiftedGeordie@reddit
The first one is like something from fucking Thunderbirds.
druebleam@reddit
First photo must have been used by Aphex Twin, windowlicker. Scrub to 04:07

AzureBelle@reddit
the first one - American Dream, they may call it a limo, but it would be more appropriate to call it two limos parked next to each other. It didn't drive in that configuration, it separated into two limos then was driven somewhere to set it up.
Beowulf-Murderface@reddit
That first car had to be from Aphex Twin’s “Windowlicker” video!
4RealzReddit@reddit
same here. I can hear it. I can see the dancing.
weneedanewpizzaplace@reddit
Ha, these are amazing!
emax4@reddit
Jay knows how it's done. The toilet paper gets loaded with the edge towards the front.
djscoots10@reddit
