I love this movie. First time I saw it was at release on a double-date.. I dragged everyone to see it because I was like, "Guys! It's Lynch!" They wanted to fucking kill me afterwards haha.
The thing is, I've probably watched this about every 4 years since release - it's only in my most recent viewing that I finally "got" it. Before that, if you asked me what it was about, I'd just shrug. All I knew was that I liked the tone, the direction, and the acting. Still my favorite Lynch movie.

I once got really high and watched Mulholland Dr (I’ve seen it multiple times, this was probably the 3rd or 4th time I watched it) and suddenly I understood everything about it. It all clicked into place and I understood exactly what was going on.
I woke up the next morning and had completely forgotten everything so I still couldn’t tell you wtf was going on. But for that one brief glorious moment I felt like the universe and all its secrets were unlocked.

I think I “get” it, but I honestly don’t even care if I’m dead-wrong. It’s just a fever dream of a watch that is both incredibly disorienting and somehow very soothing.
