I recently read that the BPA on cash register receipts is absorbed thru the skin and acts like estrogen in our body. Which is horrifying but let's make lemonade out of those lemons.
Menopausal and perimenopausal use HRT to put estrogen back into their bodies. Instead of supporting big pharma, they could just get a bunch of receipts and rub them all over their bodies. Thus creating their own HRT for free!

You're off by several orders of magnitude on the dosage.
Typical hrt dosage for medical purposes is about 1-2 milligram of estradiol.
The dosage from a receipt is about 1 nanogram of bisphenol a.
So you would need to rub 1,000,000 receipts on your body every single day for years to achieve slightly worse results, as Bisphenol A is just not as effective as Estradiol.
But its not impossible

Agree. But maybe women get vaginal atrophy, which is treated with topical estrogen. But this isn't serious anyway.

Just responding to the title: this is already happening. Trans healthcare is so bad in so many places that many trans people self medicate before/instead of getting diagnosed and getting HRT properly

Unfortunately the BPA on the receipts is not concentrated to be made bioavailable through the skin. According to the abstract of this paper, you would have to eat with it on your hands and use hand sanitizer to make it as bioavailable as possible and it still likely would not be a significant dose. Doing DIY HRT the way most people do it is probably more efficient.
