5070 Ti or 4070 Ti Super?
Posted by axderv@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 70 comments
Given the small performance improvement in the 50 series, would it make more sense to spend the same amount of money on the 50 over the 40? In terms of futureproofing, I’m not sure if the 4070 Ti Super will be able to keep up in the next five years. What should I do?
TetePepeF@reddit
am i the only one who had zero idea the 4070 Ti Super was a thing??
TetePepeF@reddit
i thought it was a typo or like they didn’t understand
Competitive_Owl_2096@reddit
If it’s the same price why are you even asking?
cokespyro@reddit
Look at some of the comments here. Redditors go out of their way to shit on the 50 series and act like frame gen and DLSS are the plague.
coolboy856@reddit
Who? Where? I have not seen anyone suggest anything like that in here since DLSS has been out and the standard for years
SmoothCruising@reddit
I seem to read that complaint a lot. I haven't been tracking how many people or anything though
CSGOan@reddit
I made a thread about how amazing frame gen is for games like dead by Daylight that can only reach 120 fps natively. People got super upset lol. People are hating frame gen for some reason.

And you have supposedly no idea what that reason is LOL. Get a load of this guy..

Yea, fg is great

-25, that is not the consensus as he implied
Expert_Conflict6374@reddit
you've been on r/Radeon and r/AMD too much
Good-Assignment5964@reddit
RTX 5070 Ti → faster, newer, more future-proof RTX 4070 Ti Super → slightly weaker but usually better value The 5070 Ti is about ~15% faster on average
PapaAquchala@reddit
If they're the same price, may as well get the newer card since it gets you slightly more performance
Glass-Candy5532@reddit
5070 ti ofc..
Razzberry85@reddit
Both have 16 gigs of VRAM and obviously 5070ti would be better in terms of long term performance with the newer architecture.
If they're the same price why would you want an older card?
Thewhitelight___@reddit
I love my 5070ti. I don't think I'll need an upgrade for a long, long time. It's kind of insane how effortlessly it runs most games at max.
Temporary-Ad8539@reddit
Exactly i have one too and its just a beast no doubt about it.
ssuper2k@reddit
Who upvotes these questions?
@ same price, get the newer ofc
Can you just use the search?
Expert_Conflict6374@reddit
Do you want a generic soulless card or something fanstastic with 'SUPER' in the name?
Do you not want to be SUPER?
Lewdeology@reddit
“And when everyone’s super, no one will be”
ucwepn@reddit
I have both and they feel pretty much the same, both rigs are hooked up to 144hz 4k tvs and it’s like having the worlds best console haha. I feel my 5070ti has had an uplift lately with dlss 4.5 and I over locked it a smidge. When both stock without dlss I think 4070ti super has more raw power.
StunningPush8421@reddit
you have to be trolling
ucwepn@reddit
Why’s that mate? I have 2 rigs.
StunningPush8421@reddit
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4070-ti-super.c4187
because the 5070 ti is roughly 15-20 percent faster in pure raster compared to the 4070 ti super at 4k.
So either you are just using the default game settings and the games are using higher settings on the 5070 ti by default or you are just not very observant.
ucwepn@reddit
I just play games man I don’t know any of that other stuff
Calm-Bid-8256@reddit
Then maybe you shouldn't give any hardware advice fo other people
ucwepn@reddit
I built both rigs myself lol go have a cry.
G_Prawno_LB@reddit
Everyone is just gonna say whatever is the best price. These posts are so redundant.
Comrade_Chyrk@reddit
Is this an actual question?
4theheadz@reddit
Obviously the 5070ti lol
SushiBump@reddit
5070ti is newer and faster. If they're the same price, then obviously get the 5070ti.
Beautiful_Ad_4813@reddit
I’m not sure if the 4070 Ti Super will be able to keep up in the next five years
I had the similar feeling when I got my 3060 - oddly enough, it's still holding up after 5 years.
but if we're talking strictly pricing as you mentioned here, get the 50 series
TiredYoungg@reddit
The 5070 Ti isn't as clear-cut as it used to be, but it's generally more expensive and the price difference is small at launch. The 4070 Ti Super will last a long time at 1440p/4K anyway. Buy it if you can find it at a good price, otherwise it's more sensible to wait for 5070 Ti reviews.
sunkist1147@reddit
Has the 5070ti not been reviewed yet? I should review mine in that case...
Did you mean discounts?
OP if they're the same price get the 5070ti.
TiredYoungg@reddit
There aren't any definitive reviews for the 5070 Ti yet, so it's hard to say for sure. I meant 'review' not 'discount' 🙂
deeznutz133769@reddit
The 5070ti has been out for ages and there are plenty of reviews. What exactly are you talking about?
TiredYoungg@reddit
There's been a misunderstanding. There are numerous leaks/preliminary reviews for the 5070 Ti, but independent, fully tested final reviews aren't publicly available yet. That's what I meant. My intention isn't to be a fanboy, just to avoid making definitive statements without concrete data.
deeznutz133769@reddit
You're either trolling or an AI... there don't need to be any leaks or preliminary reviews because the 5070ti has been out since February 2025... it is now April 2026... there are plenty independent, fully tested final reviews that are publicly available.
Here is a literal megathread of reviews from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1itgf5l/geforce_rtx_5070_ti_review_megathread/
Gameboy4194@reddit
I do believe there has to be a misunderstanding, you are saying a card that come out in February 2025 don't have any final reviews?
NonameideaonlyF@reddit
Buddy you are young and tired, go get some sleep
IndyPFL@reddit
Is Digital Foundry not definitive enough..?
imaconnect4guy@reddit
What? No reviews on a card that released over a year ago?
IWillAssFuckYou@reddit
I feel like I'm having a stroke reading this. Wait for 5070 Ti reviews? On a card released over a year ago and in the hands of many people like me?
Did you use AI to answer this question? If so, stop relying on AI to give you answers because it's clearly not something you should rely on it.
TiredYoungg@reddit
No, it's not about AI or anything, it's just my own opinion. But if you disagree, that's fine.
IWillAssFuckYou@reddit
When you said wait for 5070 Ti reviews, it looked like an answer straight from AI that was reworded (AI is often times confused about dates and will give an answer that would be right two or three years ago) any person who pays close attention should know the 5070 Ti has been out for awhile and has been extensively reviewed and was already reviewed as soon as it was available.
TiredYoungg@reddit
This is the first time I've seen such a reaction on Reddit; it was just my own opinion.
axderv@reddit (OP)
would you mind elaborating more on what you mean by “clear-cut”?
TiredYoungg@reddit
When I say "clear and definitive," I mean that the performance/price balance of the 5070 Ti is not yet fully known (reviews and prices are not yet finalized). Therefore, the 4070 Ti Super is currently a "safer" and more established option. For the 5070 Ti, the best thing to do is wait for real-world tests and pricing."
MonkeySkulls@reddit
I just made a sort of a similar choice. I was between a 4080s and a 5070ti. I went with the 4080s. it was about 100 cheaper. I think I made a mistake
I am loving the 4080. but I have a bit of buyers remorse.
StunningPush8421@reddit
4080 at least is similar in performance to the 5070 ti you are only missing mfg and some productivity performance.
If you don't use framegen much then you aren't missing out
Telucien@reddit
"The world's best console" is a perfect description for a PC haha
Jcarlough@reddit
Not really similar considering the 4080s you bought was $100 and a totally different card (4080 vs 4070ti)
Due_Permission4658@reddit
where’d you get 4070ti ? and it is similar considering the 4080s is equal to the 5070ti,5070ti beats the 4070ti super by 10% or so , a 4080s for 100$ less than a 5070ti is not worth it all rather get the newer card with newer features and access to warranty and better long term support in the long run

Jcarlough@reddit
To be fair, it is a pretty silly question when you’re considering one vs. the other at the same price.
Due_Permission4658@reddit
if there the same cost why wouldn’t you not spend the same on the newer little faster card, with newer technology and access to warranty
Ozi-reddit@reddit
as almost (lol) everyone says yup get the 50
VlNSMOKEE@reddit
4070 ti super will definitely last 5 years, but the 50 series is a no brainer. Both great cards but why not get the newer tech
TheTwinHorrorCosmic@reddit
Personally I’d say the 4070ti. The 50 series cards rely pretty bad on AI upscaling for that “better performance”.
If you don’t mind input lag and fake frames go 5070, if you want less of that go 4070
IWillAssFuckYou@reddit
uhhhhh... no. I own a 5070 Ti. It DOES NOT rely on AI upscaling and fake frames. It has real raw performance improvements over the 4070 Ti Super.
Also, 4x frame gen is actually really nice in games that support it and where it is useful and the 40 series does not support 4x nor the upcoming 6x framegen (idk if it even released yet as I'm writing this)
lancelane7@reddit
Mind you frame gen 2 or 3 on this card adds barely any input lag. Nvidia reflex exists lol and the human eye can’t tell the fake frames. Only if you are at super low base fps which you won’t be on the 5070 ti, even the 5070
imaconnect4guy@reddit
Wrooooong
cokespyro@reddit
People like you are why this guy feels the need to make this post. You are incredibly wrong and misinformed.
deeznutz133769@reddit
There's zero reason not to get the 5070ti if they're the same price. It has / will have access to more advanced features, will have support for longer, and is a better card overall.
lancelane7@reddit
If it’s the same price you clearly should get the newer card lol
TheBenderRRodriguez@reddit
No, that makes way too much sense.
Get the older card! /s
StunningPush8421@reddit
At the same price the 5070 ti is just a free 15+ percent extra performance.
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4070-ti-super.c4187
plus you get native fp4, mfg and more overclocking headroom
