Recently turned 21, my first handgun was a sensible Glock 17 Gen 5. My second handgun on the other hand…

Acrobatic_Pie9044@reddit
i just seen one of these at a gun show for $2200 without a mag lmao DX
Bigironstonks@reddit
That was probably a semi auto open bolt model, that’s average price for those now.
Acrobatic_Pie9044@reddit
sadly it wasnt. i asked the guy specifically about that lmao
TankerKing2019@reddit
I’ve always thought MAC’s were dope looking but everyone I have talked to about them said they suck.
I hope this thing is a ton of fun for you!
chasteeny@reddit
They are garbage, the magazines are super expensive and shit, they jam and can rarely feed an entire mag without failures, they are extremely heavy, etc etc
Bigironstonks@reddit
Not the semi auto open bolts
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Its such an unergonomic BRICK haha
That said however, its got vibes and it looks awesome. Those who say MACs suck are extremely correct. They definitely suck, and my MP5 clone blows it out of the water
But those who buy MACs arent buying something serious. They're buying it because its the quintessential gansta gun of the 80's meant for one-handed drive by firing
I will indeed have ALOT of fun with this thing
Oh and also I won it off a GB auction for 630 which is a pretty acceptable price point
LopsidedResearch8400@reddit
This one an open bolt?
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Closed Bolt, old school Masterpiece Arms clone, so unfortunately I cannot SBR it and stick on the awesome but impractical wire stock (there is literally no damn room for it, even if I cut the slots open)
gunmedic15@reddit
The stupid trigger plate blocks the use of the wire stock and makes the trigger slap so bad they need that rubber tube on it to protect your finger. I think maybe USMachinegun makes a buffer tube adapter for a CAR/AR stock but it's too bulky and makes an "ugly in a cool way like a Pug or an old 1970s Thunderbird" into "Ugly like your mom or communism" way.
Cool gun, though. And great price. Shoulder holster next?
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
First of all is 45 ACP and alot of it.
And second is 100% a damn stock lol, just tried it out, got through a mag before the old rubber buffer melted into a sticky gooey mess that gunked the relatively simple bolt. Wiped what I could and slathered it in CLP, got through my range day with it working again.
So yeah, on second thought, more 45 ACP and a new buffer pad
But next up is definitely a damn stock or brace because whooptie that hunk of a bolt is the real captain of recoil lol
LopsidedResearch8400@reddit
Damn, still neat though!
Years ago I came across an open bolt in .45 at a pawn shop for around 600$, but It was in terrible shape externally... I really should have tried to talk them down.
BroseppeVerdi@reddit
I hear the same thing about Turkish-made bullpup shotguns and pretty much everything Keltec makes, but it doesn't make me want one any less.
ServoIIV@reddit
While I agree that most Turkish shotguns are not good firearms, most Keltec firearms work well. They have had a few models that had issues early in production but were fixed by revisions after a little bit.
BroseppeVerdi@reddit
"They advertise it as 'the most popular gun in American crime', can you believe that? It actually says that in the booklet that comes with it, like they're proud of that shit!"
SalvoRosario@reddit
What is this from?
BroseppeVerdi@reddit
Jackie Brown. It was a Tarantino movie from the late 90's based on Elmore Leonard's "Rum Punch". In that scene, a black market arms dealer (Samuel L Jackson) is sitting on the couch with his thug friend (Robert De Niro) watching an aggressively 80's tape called "Babes With Guns" and talking about his experiences selling the guns in the video.
He's actually talking about a Tec 9, but I think it still works.

Jman1400@reddit
How's the sights?
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Good enough for a drive by
Legit though, trying to use the sights seriously is hopeless, the front sight post is thick as a motherfucker, its like trying to use the irons of the M60E4 in Battlefield 4.
Jman1400@reddit
I was wondering exactly that to be honest lol. That front sight post looks wider than the peep hole. It doesn't look like they would be usable.
I'll have to find a video of that though, I fell off after BF3.
once0217@reddit
MACs are just some fun guns. Here's mine in 380
locolarue@reddit
Extended Mag+ Silencer. I took many skulls with a MAC-11 in Black Ops 1. Good times.
RedJerk5@reddit
For me it was Hotline Miami. That gun just looks so damn cool. Especially with the tapered suppressor.
LowerFroyo4623@reddit
CIA lap gun
mercurygrandmarquis1@reddit
This gun is absolute garbage, but I absolutely love mine. Have fun with it and from what I’ve been told replacing the magazine makes it a lot more reliable
richsreddit@reddit
Seems more sensible than the Glock.
Jens_Fischer@reddit
The gansta gun...
Or
The OG US elite SpecOp submachine gun!
But boy, on the hindsight, the ingram gun really just looks like a bullet spewing brick compared to other submachine guns nowadays.
AtomicPhantomBlack@reddit
Zevon's great. I'm glad they finally inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, took long enough

Just be careful dropping it down the stairs
DoPewPew@reddit
Hopefully it runs better than my friends. His sucks and constantly jams
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Im heading to the range tonight to find out!!
DudelyMcDuderson@reddit
Report back plz!
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
After range report ish
As expected from a 8-9 pound brick on a stick.. creature comfort is pretty lacking lol. That massive hunk of steel that they call a bolt in this thing basically makes shooting this thing like a pistol a damn chore. that front strap will do very little to help you without a stock
The uh, sights are... hopeful. Trying to use them seriously is pretty much useless since the front sight post is a big wide block that'll cover up whatever you're trying to hit
It ran alright!! At first. Went through a whole mag. Then I started getting light strikes. Then the bolt got harder to pull. Then I could literally watch the bolt slowly crawl forward when I released it.
Took it apart on the spot, and realized the small buffer pad had basically melted from the heat and turned into a nice sticky goo that gunked up the insides. I wiped it off and slathered it in CLP and managed to salvage the range day!!
But you know what? It was fun as hell!! But yeah, gotta replace the buffer pad, and probably get some stock adapter and slap a cheap brace onto it, probably gonna SBR it later down the line because why the hell not
DudelyMcDuderson@reddit
hell yeah brother! I get it, and I'm happy for you.
DoPewPew@reddit
Yeah I think they’re meant to be full auto. Seems that being semi auto hurts reliability

RETURN OF THE MAC
MArkansas-254@reddit
As the saying goes… whatever trips your trigger.
EnterpriseDoorGunner@reddit
This is perfectly reasonable. In fact, I'd be disappointed if you HADN'T bought it. You're obviously a person of keen intelligence and impeccable taste.
bownt1@reddit
pure class
TacosNGuns@reddit
I heartily approve. My first handgun was a Tec-9 in 1990. 2nd was a beretta m9
Key-Tea-2881@reddit
This is definitely on par with 21 year old purchases can’t even judge
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
You should see the stuff I bought when I was restricted to just long guns and shotguns lol
Cheapass Ruger 556 is expected. FN FAL? Probably not. SAFN FN-49? What the hell?
Key-Tea-2881@reddit
I remember buying a century arms Ak at 18 and thinking I was the shit
NoOnesSaint@reddit
Wait which one is this?
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Old school Masterpiece Arms MAC-10 clone, closed bolt 45 ACP
NoOnesSaint@reddit
I meant what model. I have an old 930T 9mm that takes sten mags.
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Thats the thing, there is no model name only manufactuer. All I have to go with is that its an old M10/45 clone. Its just Masterpiece Arms .45 ACP Carrollton GA on the side
NoOnesSaint@reddit
Best I can tell it's an MPA10.
NoOnesSaint@reddit
Also I'd have to look it up again but that strap mught count as a grip. Heard something stupid about it a while ago.
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Its easy! I grab it and hold it at an angle and its a angled foregrip!! totally.

Too bad my skins too yellow and eyes too narrow i wouldnt fit in the demographics lmao
WhiskeyAndLead@reddit
Your second purchase was even more sensible. Yes, I concur.
AdviceGiveandTake@reddit
Semi, or the real thing?
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Figured the lack of wirestock and mention of it being a 'handgun' would've gave it away, semi-auto closed bolt.
Dojadank1@reddit
Great collection piece really just not great shooter, have a mac11 that’s great to bump fire other than that it not that useful
ArceusTwoFour_Zero@reddit
I have a really big thing for stamped sheet metal machine pistol looking guns. I have a kimel arms AP9. Looks badass, sucks to shoot. Jam-o-matic and the trigger is horrendous. But hey, it looks real cool at the range.
notCrash15@reddit
Nice. I'd love a vintage MPA in .45 as well
Calypso_gypsie@reddit
Ha! My buddy had one of those back in the early 90's. An absolute POS to shoot but it was cool. With his, if you rapid-fired it, about half the time it would slam fire the next round and go full auto for a bit. Scary but fun.
Molot_Vepr_308@reddit (OP)
Given the trigger on these things, Im really not surprised lol, when you test the trigger reset, when you pull the bolt back it will significantly bump the trigger back forward, like a fake reset. These things from what Ive heard, have terrible trigger slap.
FRTs on these things are also stupid simple since the gun basically is doing everything for you lol
Rooster-illusion11@reddit
OP you must really have a thing for Blocks...
cowboy3gunisfun@reddit
You've only got two hands, thus only two "practical" guns are ever needed.
Embarrassed_Chef_559@reddit
Nice 👍 Mine is a closed bolt Masterpiece Arms .45 But no threaded barrel ☹️
