What do I do with this?

Going through some of my dad's old things and came across this MD11 Freighter manual. Any value to museums or collectors? Or other? I have to just recycle it but I don't think I'll be loading a MD11 anytime soon.

Save it for when ur mom has to travel.
beibaly@reddit
I mean….. I’ll happily take it
vfrflying@reddit
Isn’t it obvious? Load and unload MD-11s
GearitUP_@reddit
FedEx definitely wants this guy’s number.
the_Q_spice@reddit
As a FedEx load manager;
Not wrong.
Overpin@reddit
I was under the impression they were headed for retirement after the engine and aircraft parted ways.
Random61504@reddit
FedEx I believe is planning to keep them for a little longer.
SnooEagles7290@reddit
how likely is it the FAA terminates the emergency AD for the type so they can re-enter service?
Random61504@reddit
I'm not sure, but FedEx seems to be confident in their return by the end of May. From what I've heard, the issue was from a service bulletin that UPS did not do, but FedEx did.
EagleEyeValor@reddit
Nah, the loading is done by the low-tier box jockeys that happen to be GSE qualified to operate the loaders for that particular plane.
Weight and balance is the job of a ramp agent sitting in front of a computer and figuring out how all the ULDs are going to fit on that plane to keep the center of gravity balanced.
Bonus points if that ramp agent changes around the location of ULDs AFTER the plane has been partially loaded so the LTBJs have to yoink out a bunch of cans and redo it. They really appreciate that.

Archive it in the Warthunder Forum

Sell it on eBay, list under collectibles, aviation. Let some collector own it rather than throwing it away
RNG_pickle@reddit
Find and md-11 and load it
Big_Spicy_Tuna69@reddit
Don't put it in the tail of your aircraft of course
TrafficOnTheTwos@reddit
Keep and cherish it or I’ll also Venmo you 20 bucks for it if you’d ship it.
Final-Carpenter-1591@reddit
Scan it. Upload it to the interwebs. Then post on ebay. Somone one day will be looking for it and glad you did both.
_Utena_@reddit
Did your dad work as an aircraft load controller? Cus that's my current job and would love to take a look into MD11's weight and balance characteristic.
ScottOld@reddit
Get an MD-11 Obviously
njsullyalex@reddit
Jokes aside, OP could buy the TFDi MD-11 for MSFS and use the manual to fly it.
Putrid-Object-806@reddit
I hear there’s a few that UPS doesn’t want anymore, reach out to them
223-Remington@reddit
Offer em 20 bucks and a six pack of beer.
jccaclimber@reddit
Yeah, but the parking bill will kill you.
scottydg@reddit
Not to mention the cost of gas...
jccaclimber@reddit
I’m going to guess you want to MOVE it?
njsullyalex@reddit
Buy the TFDi MD-11 for MSFS and challenge yourself to perform a proper WB using the manual without the help of Simbrief or the EFB.

light5speed@reddit
PLEASE scan it and share the PDF. Never saw this manual available online, this is a relic.
forgottensudo@reddit
Please do this or someone here will volunteer to do it. I understand not wanting to keep it and thank you for asking.
I have a lot of 727 manuals…
GaussMommy@reddit
Yes please!!!! Some libraries have special book scanners that let you scan the pages without having to smash it ita traditional copier.
NoAdagio7200@reddit
I WANT IT
gravyisjazzy@reddit
Honestly if you don't have other plans for it, i'd buy it off you. I've got a little collection of MD-11 stuff going, mostly UPS stuff.
flightwatcher45@reddit
I've seen rooms of books like this, like large storage rooms. Maybe it's worth putting on ebay afterall.
Gremlin0@reddit
Put that away. There’s an app for that. 😀
NeedleNoseBurito@reddit
WCA here - all aircraft have these manuals and are not necessarily used for the load planning of aircraft, rather to build approved loading systems, whether electronic or manual. The required data is entered into an AHM565.
It should contain FWD & AFT TO, ZF, LD and any alternate CG limits, standard and non-standard index changes for weight, standard and non-standard index changes for fuel, loading position index changes, floor load limits, running load limits etc etc I could go on all day.
This is extremely fascinating to me - I only deal with modern stuff.

Pause and stand on one leg.
Persistent_Phoenix19@reddit
I would certainly take that off your hands if in the US! Either that or eBay!
DullMind2023@reddit
eBay.
The3levated1@reddit
Ask UPS if they want it!
roundingcapehorn@reddit
Missing left engine weight accounted for?
roy-dam-mercer@reddit
NARRATOR: They’re not going to want it.
danit0ba94@reddit
Oh I'll never be loading an md-11 either.
But I still want it, for posterity!
Signal-Session-6637@reddit
If you live in Europe, I would take it off your hands.
No-Thought-3011@reddit
I think it would be waste to throw it away. It's part of history.
DavidAir_81_@reddit
tbh, it's something that has no value but can be truly appreciated by someone who has a passion for aviation, if you want to throw it away, give it to someone who can appreciate it instead
stickJ0ckey@reddit
bbq?

MD 11 aircraft are grounded at the moment, but save that manual. It is part of the aviation history.
