Is it best to have your setup in your bedroom or a spare room?

I'm 18M and I'm in college. I always have my setup in a spare room, because it's just naturally been like that. But I'm renovating my room and I kinda want my setup in my bedroom. The only downside is, I feel like I'd get too immersed in games and end up not sleeping / studying. I feel like I'd spend more time in my bedroom than elsewhere, but I have serious FOMO and I wanna do it.
Should I keep my setup in a different room and use my bedroom just for sleeping? Has anyone else had the same situation as me?

yeah my setup room is already big enough, ive been using it for years. but im renovating my bedroom and randomly thought of putting my pc in there, but it sounds like a bad idea lol

AFAIK there’s plenty of research showing it’s best to keep electronics out of the bedroom.
But even without those, why not use all the space you have? When I was in uni I didn’t have a choice, all my stuff had to be in my room (dorm, or living with roommates, etc) and it’s kinda isolating.

My townhouse has a laundry room in the main bedroom that I use as a pc room. Makes it hot, lights bright when sleeping, not much upside.

I've been on both sides, and I find for my mental health and well being, that having it in a separate room is best.

i feel like it's best in separate rooms too. the only thing is my bedroom is upstairs and my setup is downstairs so in the future if i ever wanted to transport heavy stuff to the rooms, it would be difficult.
