Parents won’t let me buy an bike

I’ve been into bikes for about 5 years now and into e-bikes for about 2, and I’ve put hundreds of hours into researching them along with watching tons of videos, and while I was in Florida I saw a ride out of about 20 bikes. After I saw them I posed the question to my parents “would you guys let me buy an e-bike with my own money?” short answer, No. My dreams shattered right there, I feel like that is my only freedom gone. And honestly I don’t know what to do.

This will sound hypocritical coming from me, because I was riding gas powered dirt bikes by the time I was around 8 years old. But if you are wanting what is most likely an emoto due to seeing YouTube or TikTok videos about these ride outs, your parents are probably doing you a favor in the long run even though currently you don’t like it. Most of the kids doing these ride outs are dangerous and breaking all sorts of laws like running red lights and stop signs, riding on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, etc. Your parents are trying to keep you safe as participating in these ride outs you are likely enamored with are dangerous and foolish.

When I was 14 I wanted a dirt bike in the worst way. My parents refused to buy me one. My parents were the type that said if I wanted extra stuff like that then I should get a job.
So I sort of did. I worked enough to buy up an Yamaha 90cc motor. Then I got a frame that was off a wrecked bike, but still intact. Tyres and other necessities I either worked for or traded for. That piece of shit bike ran pretty damn good too. It looked like a rolling scrap heap, but to many people's amazement, I won a few races with it. I called it my Yamahondasaki bike because it had parts from different brands.
Now I might have a solution to your problem. Of course your age may play a role. If you happened to trade a buddy for an ebike, it wouldn't be actually buying one. And if you did it before asking your parents, they might just give in. Of course, I don't know your parents' personalities, so my suggestion may not work for you. You can try though.
Now if you're only like 13 or something, this might not be a viable idea.

It sounds like you are suggesting a workaround basically so he can obtain one behind his parents backs and hoping they accept it because he already did it, which is the worst advice you could give him.

Did you ask to buy an actual electric bicycle or an e-moto? If you asked for an e-moto or even a moped style ebike i can understand their reluctance.
If i were you i'd look for something that is built on an actual bicycle frame that is made to be pedales, something that's class 2 so it's limited to 20 mph for now. show your parents that it's not much different from a standard mountain or beach cruiser style bike.

You have to learn the art of bargaining. Ask for something much more expensive like horse or a race car, then 'settle' for the bike.

First save up the money for bike AND safety gear. Then stop fantasizing about biker gangs. Now negotiate from a better position.

My parents wouldnt let me buy a motorcycle, had to wait till I moved out. Id suggest you just save your money till you are in a position to buy and own and hopefully by then youll have the funds to get exactly what you want.

This is sort of silly. How old are you? Do you want a legal class 1 ebike or an illigel offroad electric dirt bike?

Im guessing your extremely young? What kind of e bike were you looking to get?

You do what every minor does. Whine and complain and try to change your parents mind, or focus on what you can do now and grow up, move out and then do whatever you want with your life when you are no longer dependent on your parents for support.

When I was 14 I wanted a helicopter, so I completely understand where you're coming from.

Wait until you’re 18 I guess
