RTX 3070 dying - Need Suggestions on new GPU

Hello there!
I am looking to get a new GPU and need some help figuring out a sensible upgrade. I play on 1080p, I want to be able to run most new games on mostly high settings, maybe a little bit of ultra.

I’ll be upgrading my 3070 build to a 5080 soon, excited for an upgrade good luck with yours 🙏

It depends on the budget, 9070XT will do all that and more
PeytonWatson14@reddit
Could probably do 5060 Ti (16GB) and 9060 XT (16GB) as well. 5070 too.
Yeah we really need to know the budget OP

Max budget would be like.. 1000-1100. Would prefer to not go over that. Under 900 would be great.
PeytonWatson14@reddit
9070XT would be my suggestion. Unless you want to get a 5070 Ti but they perform about the same except in RT/PT. I imagine you wouldn’t care at 1080p though

Do you think the 9070xt would still be good if I decide to upgrade to 1440p in the future?
sagewynn@reddit
I run a 9070XT at 3440x1440.
No game goes below 60fps. I don't try for 120Hz, but I am pretty sure I can.
PeytonWatson14@reddit
Absolutely. Will eat about anything at 1440p, especially if you use FSR 4. You’re golden

Help me out because I'm curious. Are we just supposed to know what currency that is? Are we supposed to guess what country you're in?
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
My bad, USD.
aragorn18@reddit
Ok. Are you actually in the US or are you just converting your local currency to USD?
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
I'm in the US.
aragorn18@reddit
You can afford an RTX 5070 Ti. But, I would save your money and get a 9070 XT. Both will be overkill for 1080p gaming. But, you'll ve well set up for a future monitor upgrade.
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
Awesome, that's exactly the plan.
No_Spare1827@reddit
well, if its USD or even Euro then a 9070XT is a great card that shouldn't cost anywhere near that and would play anything u need it to at 1080p and still have high FPS at high settings in 1440p
Fafn1rthedragon@reddit
I have a 9070 non xt got it for 600, I highly recommend, I have had no issues at all, playing 1440p
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
Seen another thread recommending the 9070xt a lot as well. Is it really that good?
nutslayer@reddit
i’ve heard great things and crazy good amount of vram. I’m lowkey waiting for a deal
PeytonWatson14@reddit
It might be a while before we can find more deals.
nutslayer@reddit
most likely yeah. I mean i’m not in a rush tho i play esports titles mostly at 1080p so 😅 If i see something pop up i’ll jump at it
PeytonWatson14@reddit
Yeah nothing we can do in the mean time but wait and hope the AI/RAM situation dies down
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
Would you say 739 USD is a good price point for the 9070xt? Not sure where I could check that.
PeytonWatson14@reddit
Newegg has some cheaper than that (around $700) but they say to get the cheapest model most of the time. They all perform close within each other for temps
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
Appreciate everyone chipping in with ideas and helpful knowledge.
puchi2701@reddit
upgrade to a 9060xt or 9070xt or maybe 5070 and upgrade to 1440p is life changer
Accomplished_Emu_658@reddit
Whats sensible? These days that very subjective. 5070 is a good card for about 600. The 5060ti 16gb is an option but for a 100 less than a 5070 isn’t best choice. 9070xt is great for about 100 more. And is better in most uses than 5070ti which is usually a lot more.
Silver_Impressive@reddit (OP)
Sensible as in like I want to upgrade without overpaying when I could get more for less. Which seems to be the 9070xt from what everyone is saying.
