Do i need to use/activate bitlocker for my BIOS update?

Hello friends,
I currently have a B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard and want to install the new BIOS update to get the TPM update. When I download the BIOS version, it always says that it's absolutely necessary to activate BitLocker and save the recovery codes, otherwise I won't be able to access Windows. Since I've never activated BitLocker before and only recently got a PC, I'm now worried about updating the BIOS and then not being able to use the PC anymore. Can you tell me if I can ignore this and update the BIOS as usual, or do I have to forgo the update?
sry for the english but the Google translator isn't that good sadly

Yes the Normal updates weren't a problem for me, but this is an Beta version and the only one that specivicly asked for Bitlocker ever

A bios update NEVER says to enable bitlocker, they can however ask you to DISABLE bitlocker if it's already enabled. Because sometimes changes are done that may require a tpm reset, and if you reset the tpm without having the recovery key your data will be gone.

If you haven't turned on bitlocker before, you're ok to go ahead and flash. It's just warning you that if bitlocker was on you need to go in and backup they key. You never turned it on, so there is no key to backup.

If you know what bitlocker is you would know if you need to enable it or not.
Otherwise, no, leave it off.

It's warning if you have bitlocker on you'll need to have your recovery codes available, since the TPM change would make it complain. If you're not using it (and you're actually sure it's off, since for some windows versions if it detects your computer's compatible it may enable automatically) you don't need to do anything.
