TSA aproval for flight training.

I previously received TSA approval under a different immigration status. Currently, I have pending I-485 and I-360 applications, and I would like to begin my flight training.
I’ve come across some claims from individuals who were able to obtain TSA approval and start training while their I-485 was still pending. If anyone has firsthand experience with this situation, I would appreciate it if you could share your insight.

How long ago was your tsa approval? If it was recent then your current TSA approval should be good for 5 years. Your different immigration status does not get cancelled just because you filed an i485.
Alternatively if your previous immigration status expired and all you have is a pending I485, do you have an EAD card? You can always send in your EAD card + receipt notice for i485 (green card) with USCIS to prove lawful status here in the US. That should be enough for TSA to approve you. But I would only attempt this if your previous TSA approval expired or TSA cut off your other approval because your previous immigration status expired.
TL:DR Your previous TSA should be good for 5 years. If still good then use that one for training. Your previous immigration status does not get cancelled just because you filed an I485.

You should be able to get it with just an I485. Did you try reading the FAQ/guide section on FTSP website? If i'm not mistaken, it gives you guidance on different scenarios and statuses. Is your I94 still valid?

I94 is not valid. I did read the tsa guidance but I quite didn’t get it really. It’s fracturing since I’m training atm. Don’t wanna get in to a hold state…
Rangeexpert3@reddit
Did you at least get the I485 filed before the i94 expired?

Yes I did

What rating?

I think it depends on which officer looks at your file. Depends if they know what a receipt notice means. Some may and another may not. Your other option is to apply for an EAD. With an EAD + receipt notice, you should be able to get approved.
Another option is, if you are able to finish off your IFR very soon, you can do the IFR checkride. Then do commercial afterward. There is no TSA requirement for commercial single initial.
