Build options for 9700XT with AM4 motherboard

Hello,

I’m looking to upgrade my current setup, here is what it looks like:

B450M steel legend

2x 8GB Corsair 3000MHz RAM

Ryzen 3500x

Radeon 5600XT Sapphire pulse

Corsair CX550, 550W 80+ bronze

Unfortunately this set up is not cutting it with modern games, even with FSR3 (which looks like shit btw, hopefully 4 looks much better)

Ideally I would only change the GPU + Processor, also the PSU I guess, but I’m not sure if any of the AM4 processors currently being sold would be good enough

Any tips here?

Well it depends, if I can keep the same motherboard it would same me a lot of money, specially not having to buy DDR5 RAMs right now

But I also don’t want to buy a processor that’s not going to support my GPU nicely and then have to change in the future

I upgraded recently from a 3700x to 5800xt. It’s been awesome!

Also the 9070 XT slaps.

Awesome, are you seeing any bottlenecks between the CPU and GPU?

No I haven’t. It’s been running great.

I got the 5800xt back in December, was wanting to upgrade a bunch of pieces but AM5 wasn’t really on the radar due to the ram prices. I see it go on sale often enough on Amazon or where I’m from Memory Express.

Tried looking for an x3D but those are basically extinct.
