I have seen this movie dozens of times, but watching it this morning, this scene just hit home.

I don't know his name and don't feel like looking it up, but the actor who played General Berringer couldn't have played a Cold War general of that era better.
"Mr. McKittrick, after very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new defense system sucks."

Berry Corbin, had a good run on Northern Exposure.
The scene where they are mid-discussion and he just pulls out a bag of Red Man and shoves a plug in his lip without losing a beat is pretty on the nose for a Cold War general.

I blame this movie for why I got into IT as a career. Hacking in to change your grades really drew me in. 😎

Remember when people answered the phone?
And I am disgusted by the NEVER ENDING marking and scam efforts I get now.

And if the mechanism worked one character at a time as shown it could be solved in a few seconds by 80s tech. That part always bothered me.

I got rid of my landlines decades ago. My phone has been on mute for over a decade. I found out by a former boss that my voicemail didn't work, I've had this service for five years, I never saw it.
Don't call me, Google screening is going to talk to you first. Text, email or in person. Telephone calls better be an emergency, and then why are you calling me for?
