We were scheduled to be on the afternoon flight today. Got the cancellation as a "mechanical issue".
I'll say. 😳

Wife and I were at the beach and watched this bird fly over before it happened!

We were on this exact plane back in February. Glad to hear the pilot is ok!

Shame, that service is really great (I’ve flown on this exact plane before)

Following for any updates, we flew on their sister plane out to Dry Tortugas yesterday afternoon. It was an incredible experience. So glad to hear everyone is okay. So scary.

Gear down on the water, this is generally always the result.
That’s the reason most amphibs have CHECK GEAR warnings and lights for the position.

There’s another angle. Looks like the pontoon snapped too. Vids are limited right now. The Fort is the most isolated national park in America.

great diving there.

I grew up in the Keys, and I don't remember there ever being an incident with the sea planes going to and from the Dry Tortugas. This is something crazy if it's true.

What's a Kenmore Air Otter doing in Florida?
Tupolev144@reddit
Key West Seaplanes. Has not been owned by Kenmore since 2023, now owned by a leasing company and in service with Key West.

Wild. I was just looking at Fort Jefferson and the Dry Torgugas on Google Earth a couple days ago. Probably saw pics of this plane.

There’s no source yet. This literally just happened. The last pic is my own from 6 days ago. Until the ferry gets back nobody without a Starlink is posting anything for next 2 hours out there.
