Being touted as the Asian Costco.
I went last Tuesday to check it out. Interesting selection but still a bit chaotic. One important thing to note if you're going is to check the expiration dates of the food items. I bought a case of dried Ramen. Brought it home and then noticed that it was set to expire 2 days later.
I noticed this with the canned goods, some frozen dim sum items and bakery items. all nearing the expiration date date than most families would be able to use the food up.

Tom thumb in Carrollton doing same thing selling expired products.

The Tom Thumb on Parker and Independence does the same. You really have to check. I almost grabbed turkey meat that was approaching 3 weeks past expiration. The whole lot was that way.

Tom Thumb on Alma and Hedgecoxe is similar with produce. They really suck at rotating it, so much of it is near rotten.

Replace the letter R with the letter D and you are good to go.

You mean that the name should be Dicey instead of Ricey? 🤪. To be fair, it's a rice noodle Ramen not wheat so it probably will last a long time. The only thing is the oil and seasoning could go bad. This was the sparerib flavor and it's delicious.

Did you hide that in the back and come back the day after for this pic?

So I used to work in food packaging and manufacturing.Â
Expiration, best by, and sell by dates are made up.Â
Someone literally goes "eh just put two years from now"Â
It IS required on milk and baby formula. Maybe eggs.Â
Everything else should be just a measuring stick for when it was manufactured and a metric for how thorough you need to sniff test it.Â
For dry ramen it literally doesn't matter as long as the package isn't broken or inflated. Go watch MRE SteveÂ

Must be really old for dry ramen to be expiring

Aged to perfection IMO

I get the feeling this is their strategy to shave costs, though their prices aren’t much better than H Mart.

To be fair, it’s really “Asian Costco” in the sense that it sells at wholesale pricing. Other than that, it’s not that great. I went a few days ago and it was ok.
