Straight up a horrible value. $500 for a mil spec lower with furniture that most people don't like. I suppose QC is really good and you get the rollmark, but that's not nearly worth it IMO.
build out a basic ass milspec with a good trigger and furniture of choice for less, or a Griffin MK2 for a bit more
Yeah it was right before Ruger bought them out. I assume they were just clearing the last bit of stock before the transition. They also had 3 pack of lower receivers for less the $100 and crazy deals on complete builds. Poverty pony is gone but never forgotten!
that was the deal of a decade. mark sold 3500 lowers in less than 12 hours. $600 is CHEAP for them too. he used to routinely sell them for $800. I bought 3 of them and wish I had bought like 6 lol
the problem with DD is that they HEAVILY restricted where to buy there lowers. they would REFUSE for literally 15 years to sell lowers at all. then about 2-3 years ago they started making them for the public, but then discontinued them a year later. lately PSA has had them in waves (a batch ever 2-4 months) for about a year. a few other places get them VERY rarely (like once every 6 months), and until this 208 gunshop sale they have NEVER been sub $450.... sadly with DD if you want a matching lower it's more of a "can I find it in stock?" rather than "I'm going to look for a good price" scenario
oh yeah, if you don't care about having a matching lower to your upper then you're better off waiting for a SOLGW/Sionics/BCM Blem sale for sub $400 ...
but I'm one of those OCD people who REFUSES to match a nice high tier upper with anything but a factory lower... my anxiety won't let me lol

If you want a braced pistol 208 gunshop just posted a lower this morning for $399.
But tbh none of the DD lowers are worth the money, and I have one. It's entirely just bland milspec. Get literally anything else for $499

I guess that's fair for the die hard matchers. But it's not a great lower. Milspec as hell trigger at the cost of a full Ambi built lower, no thanks.

I, too, like nice things. However, the only reason I’m paying money like this is going to be for an ambi lower configured how I like it.
Obviously deals come and go but I configured my Griffin MK2 with a G$ trigger and an ARC Fire for less than this.
