In my country the 9070xt is about 70% of the 5070ti price

I don't think the 5070ti is worth that extra 30% but what do you think i really don't know
my5cworth@reddit
As a 5070ti owner Id choose the 9070xt unless the price is within $100.
Celticz@reddit
I’ll be the other side. Tested out both, and kept the 5070ti. DLDSR is vastly superior, and DLSS still reigns supreme imo. Also overclocked both, and when doing so the 5070ti pulls ahead pretty good.
Fredasa@reddit
Yeah. The "just for gaming" recommendations are glossing over some pretty important caveats that absolutely do apply to gaming.
DLSS reigning supreme isn't a matter of opinion and I personally cannot stand the temporal incoherence of FSR4. DLSS4, let alone 4.5 L (which I personally probably won't use), just crushes it.
But unmentioned is some nitty-gritty, like getting esoteric third party tweaks to work on your game. If it's gonna fail on any make, that make is AMD, because those coders making stuff in their free time don't have unlimited time to make sure things work on a brand they don't even own—ownership dictates support, period.
Ray tracing / path tracing? Nobody's mentioning that at all? These are among the top 5 GPUs you can buy, so if anyone's going to be dipping their toes in RT/PT, it's gonna be owners of these. This should be part of the discussion.
Ray reconstruction is a game changer and AMD's equivalent is borked. I'd be quite put out if I bought a GPU on the blanket assessment that it's just as good as the Nvidia counterpart, only to belatedly learn that I have discarded a very important visual feature by doing so.
Celticz@reddit
There are all my thoughts, and you put it succinctly. The time I tested out the 9070xt, and having to use Optiscaler every single game to get the best version of FSR4 was honestly a chore. I just didn’t want to go full in depth, but you did so perfectly.
Framed-Photo@reddit
This was what made me go with a 5070ti (that and the 9070xt I used had a bunch of coil whine).
I had been on a 5700xt for almost 6 years prior and I was just plain sick of needing to constantly tweak and tinker with everything to get a good experience.
I would happily pay the premium for the 5070ti again, probably more so now that I've had one for a few months. You don't have to mess with things to get the best experience.
my5cworth@reddit
Great write up! Thanks for the detailed response my dude.
my5cworth@reddit
Thanks! Thats interesting to learn!
Which 5070ti card do you have? I have the Asus Prime OC bit never considered overclocking it.
Celticz@reddit
PNY OC is the model I have
oSyphon@reddit
I traded my 5070 ti for a 9070xt oc gigabyte mainly to game on official steamos and it's the best decision I ever made

Inventory is increasing, and it is about to skyrocket as more planned AI data centers are cancelling their contracts. Nvidia typically has better performance than Radeon simply because they command most of the market share, and most software is designed specifically for their products. So the 9070xt is definitely a good value. But you may be able to find a better price if you are able to wait a few more months.
Antenoralol@reddit
Since when does performance come from market share
NativeTexanDude@reddit
Are you asking a serious question? If you are, AI and gaming developers write software specifically for the most popular GPUs. It's a small difference, but it is very real. OpenAI uses Nvidia chips. So if you are using OpenAI to run simulations, it will perform better on the 9070 than the 5070.
NativeTexanDude@reddit
If you're having fun, I get it. Market share absolutely shouldn't affect performance, but it unfortunately does.

Whats your source?

TechRadar
NativeTexanDude@reddit
Here is the one I was thinking about. It's been all over the local news, but it didn't come up the first search I did.
AdstaOCE@reddit
No. 9070XT is just as good for way less money. Unless you use one of the few specific applications where CUDA has a big advantage such as Blender or Premiere Pro.
WizardMoose@reddit
If you're doing production work, or AI work. Then the price difference is worth it. If you're strictly just gaming, then no, go with the 9070xt.
oSyphon@reddit
9070xt is amazing but I recommend primarily gaming on Linux if you're going to use one.
gokufire@reddit
AMD all the way if the question is for Linux
UpstairsConnection57@reddit
Nvidia has worse Linux drivers that costs around 10-15% performance.
oSyphon@reddit
I'm pretty sure the drivers work better in Linux. Probably because of community support
dorting@reddit
In Windows work well, is just that AMD is way better in Linux
gokufire@reddit
Drivers are available in the kernel meaning frictionless compared to Nvidia, and are longer supported compared to Windows
UpstairsConnection57@reddit
The 5070ti has better raytracing and works significantly better with 3D production apps (200-250% faster Blender rendering). It may be more future proof with the DLSS vs FSR situation. That said the 9070XT is still an excellent raw horsepower gaming GPU.
Dell_Hell@reddit
If you are doing local AI work, yes - if not, no.
Straight_Stick_896@reddit (OP)
So for gaming the 9070xt?
peh_ahri_ina@reddit
You will not regret it. Just read the sticky on amd subreddit and disable windows autoupdate and drivers thing and you are set.
PNDMike@reddit
Absolutely go 9070xt if gaming is your primary use.
damien24101982@reddit
Fiat and Ferrarri will both take you to where you want to be, it just depends on the time and experience :D
Head_Exchange_5329@reddit
Since there's now a rumour (backup up by technological reasoning) that Radeon will release yet another upscaling technology that won't be directly backwards compatible (FSR Diamond), I find it hard to justify getting Radeon GPUs now. I was damn near buying the RX 9070 XT when it was on sale, but now I am glad I didn't. The 5070 Ti might be somewhat overpriced, but at least you won't be looking from the sideline when DLSS 5 comes around. That has a lot of value, a value that I was very much aware of when I built a budget gaming PC for my friend's son. The choice was easy, at the Norwegian equivalent of $200 the RTX 3070 (ROG STRIX no less) was impossible to beat. RX 6700/6700 XT was tempting (though $50 more expensive) but again, no future-proofed upscaling and awful RT performance.
rpsmith90@reddit
I sold my 9070 and found a 5080 ti before prices went up. AMD imo is not showing good ROI by supporting hardware.
F1T_13@reddit
Depends what you plan to do with it. For workloads the 5070Ti is worth the extra. Just for gaming though.. probably not. It also depends where they start. Like at 850 the 5070Ti is justifiably worth the price for its features but any more than that and it's idk. A 9070XT can be from 600-800 dollars it's good value at 600 dollars but at 800 dollars it's only good value if a 5070Ti is +1000.
Value is relative.
Kagemand@reddit
Yeah it isn’t
japespszx@reddit
Well, it is. The world doesn't revolve around your country. Lol
In my country's currency and in one store, the cheapest 9070XT costs 45000. The cheapest 5070Ti from the same store costs 64000.
Opperhoofd123@reddit
And you think it is worth it?
Prior_Cry7759@reddit
Amd Gpus arent all that great a purchase currently. Lagging behind on features, lack of extended hardware support, its not great. Even on a slower 5070 you get similar pc system latency because of Nvidia reflex tech. I'd bite the bullet. Fps number is similar but thats only 1 metric
Potential-Instance-1@reddit
Very fan boy or very personal experience, but does not symbolize significant data
Prior_Cry7759@reddit
Unfortunately its true. You can see it tested around the hour 11 mark. Stock for stock a 5070 can have lower latency than a much faster 9070xt which matters in many games. With frame gen on even the latency is just slightly above a 10% or so faster 9070.

Potential-Instance-1@reddit
The 9070 xt is just as good as 5070 ti for gaming, for other purposes maybe 5070 ti can be a bit better
