Hi, my mom wouldnt budge everytime i convinced her to buy me a better pc, she bought me a AIO pc i am grateful, but the problem is everytime i played on it it sutters and lags since it has a Intel CPU, and when i ask and convince her she just makes excuses like "Next month i will" and when the time comes she just pretends like she doesnt remember saying something like that. Pls help me
josephguy82@reddit
Your pc lags because it has an integrated GPU,Best advice I can give is get an job my parents were the same they really didn't get for computers so I got an job took me some time but got my own PC with an GeForce 2 mx 400 mb,Times have changed now you need the bare minimum of 8gb š„ŗ

yh it has a Integrated gpu, but luckily it has 16gb i dunno if it has ddr3 i havent checked
and also i do not live in the states life here is different and prices had gone wild, plus i can't think of a job here rather than selling flowers in the church which i dont wanna even do because the nearest church is wayy too far away i cant even think of a job rather than that

Then how do you think your mom get the money for your demand? Or is it just her job to complete the quest that even you don't want to finish it by yourself?
washout77@reddit
How old are you?
What parts does your current computer actually have beyond āIntel CPUā? Many computer components have gotten crazy expensive recently, so maybe she canāt afford to buy a whole new computer
No_Spare1827@reddit
I think it's better not to ask others age online kinda sus
TheMagarity@reddit
There's a big difference between randomly asking someone's age vs clarifying when it's relevant to the situation.

Imagine OP is 20 years old. lol
bromoloptaleina@reddit
Get a job bro. Your mom might be financially strained.
josephguy82@reddit
I agree getting an job it also feels better when you buy your own with your money
MagicPistol@reddit
Try to imagine being in her shoes. You work all day to provide food and shelter for your kid, and they also pester you all the time to buy them a new PC just so they can play games better.
Unless you guys are well off, maybe try to find a job and save up for the PC yourself.
TheMagarity@reddit
Intel CPUs don't just stutter for no reason. You probably just need a memory upgrade.
You mentioned Mom but not Dad. If they aren't together, finances are almost always tight for single Moms. She probably feels guilty and sad when you ask for things she can't afford.
kmkm2op@reddit
People think OP is talking about a pc with an AIO cooler but it's probably an AIO pc so non upgradable and likely has integrated graphics.
MysticDraden@reddit
Work work work if not old fashion effort put forth why should she?

Hey kid, you're operating in a fog of youth. Don't mean that as an insult, you can't know what you don't know, and if you can ask a question like this, the quality of your PC is the complaint, you're actually fairly privileged in life.
You say you are grateful, here is the fog, "because its and intel AIO." You clearly want a nice custom pc. You clearly attribute some performance issue of stutters and lags to that problem, and in your vision, the better PC fixes all that.
While there is some truth to that, "it would just be better if $$$$$$" is a bottomless pit, and it doesn't make you better.
Have you optimized your PC? Debloated the install, removed any 3rd party app you aren't actually using, disabled the RGB, shut down windows background apps and prevent them from running in the background.
You have stopped at "money will make it better, and mom can do that for me." We have all been there. Dig into the questions I just asked you, see if you can learn some things, free up some performance, smooth out that stutter, then go give your mom a hug and thank her for that PC. (While in your head, you are using new found knowledge for what you ARE going to upgrade yourself eventually. I went with babysitting for $)

Maybe she's financially struggling and she doesn't want to tell you the truth. If you really want that pc then I suggest getting used parts online.
Fixitwithducttape42@reddit
PC's are expensive, and just because it's an intel doesn't mean it will stutter. An AIO is not a performance part, so that wouldn't have helped unless it over thermal throttling.
It is stuttering due to a FPS drop. hit windows button + g and pull up the performance monitor. And look at if the CPU or GPU is holding you back in the game that is giving your problems. If it's the GPU lower your graphic settings.
If it's the CPU you can limit your frame rate with a FPS cap or adjust your monitor HZ rate to something lower to reduce or stop the stutter. This acting as a improvised FPS cap. I personally use this method and run my monitor below the 1% lows (low FPS I see) so I get smooth gameplay. This method can also be used if you were limited by the graphics card or other issues to help smooth out gameplay.

Get a weekend job and pay for it yourself and politely ask your mam if you can sell the AIO to go towards the costs!
I built a ultra budget ddr3 based pc for £115 and everthing was bought 2nd hand from vinted. Only new parts where cpu cooler and a cheap amazon pc case.
I can be done even in todays climate

Get a job kid

Start mowing lawns, shoveling snow, deliver papers, work somewhere doing something

so you're gonna give me your mother's phone number, i'll talk to her, hangout with her and eventually date her.
after we've dated for a while, i'll marry her and become your father, and as your father i will buy you the PC you wanted.
maybe even gift you a brother or two.
we both win, little guy.
Hosura_Stetif0009@reddit
If she won't, save for one yourself! Why should she have to buy you one? Save like $2000 for a beast of a PC, even $3000 if you'd want!
But mines only around $900, works perfectly fine (AND IT HAS AN INTEL!!)
mstpguy@reddit
Are you old enough for gainful employment? Best answer is to get a job. Save some and use some for your PC.
The day I grew up was the day I decided to work for the things I wanted rather than asking someone to get it for me.
Pajer0king@reddit
You either get a job/part time/ help people with chores or you pay your mum with the same coin, if you don t buy me a new pc i won t do X. I would recommend the first method, you ll have your money, nothing she can t do about it.
FluffyTeddy315@reddit
What are your current specs? Instead of a new pc maybe work a bit and try save up for specific components. Will be cheaper than a new pc?
Scary_Contract_7701@reddit
Kill your gpu and tell her it broke and you need a new one
TechnoGMNG589@reddit
what are the specs of the one u have now
ADo_9000@reddit
Could it be a money problem? It might be that she doesn't have the money for it.
ime1em@reddit
try picking out a PC yourself based on your mom's budget. Or get a job
