Did z.ai just raise GLM Coding Plan prices or am I losing it?

I was about to subscribe to the GLM Coding Plan on z.ai to try it with Claude Code. Pretty sure the tiers were Lite $10 / Pro $30 / Max $80 yesterday. Now I'm seeing $18 / $72 / $160. Did they just silently double the prices or am I experiencing a Mandela effect? Anyone else notice this?

Love being on their Lite for just $25.82 for year 1 and then $72/year on grandfathered pricing š

Lol, I just checked yesterday as well and was about to subscribe to the middle plan for 30 bucks. No way now lol.

Same here

I can really recommend opencode GO subscription. First month is 5$ and after wards 10$ a month. It has GLM 5(.1) and various other open source models.
dylantestaccount@reddit
All these ācheapā plans will come crashing down soon. VC subsidizing token costs canāt last forever.
NLJPM@reddit
Yeah true, so just keep switching :D

3 days ago i got the 30$ plan, will i pay 30$ for the next month or the new higher prices?
Ok_Scheme7827@reddit
Could you please let me know if the GLM membership price has changed? I'm curious too.

I got it beginning of April. According to my current plan it will stay the same, but upgrading shows the new price plans

Itās always fun to read news like that.
Today Iām gonna shift my workload: the eGPU which receives 10W of sun electricity on good days will run Gemma 4 26B A4B and on the other hardware I'll load Qwen 397b :)

preppers get hard when bombs are dropping
what speeds are you getting and what hardware?
buecker02@reddit
only 10Wh?
ProfessionalSpend589@reddit
Itās more of a test at this point :)
The photovoltaic panels are inside the room and the sun shines through the window only in the afternoon for a few hours.
I think the loss is not great for a Ā 2x 15w panels setup. Previously I tried 2x 100W panels inside another room and I was getting 8W on a good hour.

ah! okay.

Those RTX Pro 6000s are getting more attractive by the day
RetiredApostle@reddit
All 16 of them.

You can run it on 6-ish.

don't forget the solar panels

I saw the price rise as well, just cancelled GPT and was thinking of trying GLM and 2nd LLM service. My view of the world tells me that the true prices of these AI services will gradually become apparent and it will be excessively expensive. Right now I have access to RTX 5090 + 64GB RAM and MBP M4 128GB + Gemini Workspaces for public LLM. Convinced that there will be a major breakthrough that will reduce actual VRAM required by like 40 to 50%.
maxtrix7@reddit
The best deal right now is Mistral, at 5 or 6 euros per month (If you are an student)
havenoammo@reddit
If you bought the coding 'plan' after Feb 12th, when they introduced weekly limits, it was pointless because their weekly limit is the same as the pay-per-token prices of OpenRouter. Since GLM 5.1 was released, they increased the price from $3.2 to $4.4 or something on OpenRouter, so it makes sense they changed subscription prices too. First of all, the z.ai service is horrendous; check their Discord and see endless complaints about the service breaking around 60-70k context. Also, they provide heavily quantized versions. The GLM model is good, but the z.ai service is bad. So, if you don't want to get scammed, use another provider.

Wtf!
Captain2Sea@reddit
Original prices were ok but now you must be crazy to pay for glm
AbjectTutor2093@reddit
I think they did it cause instead of having a cheaper plan that gets throttled like hell they increased pricing and HOPEFULLY won't throttle you...
GoDayme@reddit
Agree, seems too close now - although you get more usage. Probably mostly relevant for the smallest tier.
AppealSame4367@reddit
"More usage" -> in order to have Claude quality i have to use glm-5 turbo or glm-5.1
I do that on a normal, 30k line codebase -> 10% weekly usage after like 2-3 questions.
Same for mimo v2 plans.
The offers were very generous, but now reality catches up.
Manaberryio@reddit
Fuck. I was considering buying one of the plans. May not going to after all.

It's time to utilize the Internet Archive to your advantage.
burakodokus@reddit (OP)
But eventually got to the archive page and yes, they just raised the price. It is verified now.
burakodokus@reddit (OP)
It was giving 503 for some reason.
