AMAZING ETS P320 mags. Or how I learn to handfit magazines

Went to my LGS and they had 4 brand new ETS P320 mags for 5 dollars each. "SCORE" I thought to myself. When home to test my bargains mags, to my surprise they had hidden features to turn my semi pistol into a single shot handgun. It's so thoughtful of ETS to help me save ammo in this economy.
They stayed in my drawer for a week while I figured out how to disable this amazing feature.
I noticed that the front of the feed lips are touching the internal slide lock tab. So I resolved to file away the front of the feed lips highlighted in pic #2. Okay problem solved. My pistol was back to boring plain old semi auto....... until the last 2 rounds.
The clever single shot feature came back when 2 rounds are left in the magazine. Elite Tactical System had cleverly engineered the followers to activate the slide lock 2 rounds before running empty as an early warning mechanism. I hate money and wanted to shoot all my ammo so i resolved to ruin ETS clever engineering again and shortened the last round hold open activator dingus on the follower. Now they only hold open when empty. Shown in pic #3
Finally I got around to switching my mag release to my preferred side as I am left-handed. Now the magazine won't even insert and lock. ETS had the foresight to prevent sinister handed folks from using weapons. And thus this journey has ended. I wasn't meant to wield such power.

Anyone who actually shoots or trains knows these mags are dog shit. But then again that knife and gun don’t have a scratch on them so I’m going to say, it’s safe to assume these are case queens playing the, “part.”
EUGsk8rBoi42p@reddit
Maybe throw the mags out, along with the p320?
Last thing I'd want is jank sus mags in a jank sus gun fam.
mth5312@reddit
Ain't nothing wrong with p320's. You got got by the misinformation campaign.
bmm115@reddit
Keep on brother. It's a similar situation how cops kept shooting themselves when switching from revolvers to striker fired.
BantedHam@reddit
There's literal footage of a sig hitting the ground after being drop tested and firing without a trigger pull.
bmm115@reddit
I've seen that with glocks too
BantedHam@reddit
Damn, we sig sycophants in tha house, didn't think that was real until I was today years old.
Actually there has never been a factory Glock that misfired from a drop. Prove me wrong, if you do I'll eat my words.
bmm115@reddit
If it can happen like this, it can happen from a drop. This is something that can happen from any firearm and is why firearm safety is important. Yes, the early sigs had an issue which was addressed. All of the p320 instances were in poorly fitting holsters, holsters that had an incorrect light from the holster, and things of that nature causing bad play with the mechanisms.

BantedHam@reddit
That is not a factory glock
mth5312@reddit
I'm not a sycophants. I did research and learned something and am not scared to say it and stand by it. I could care less about the sig p320. I do however hate when people spread incorrect info they know nothing about and are pricks about it.
BantedHam@reddit
Damn you care a lot about misinformation l, sucks you are spreading it
mth5312@reddit
What misinformation am I spreading? I shared facts that you too can look up. I recommend doing some research. Come back when you can back yourself up pal 👍
EUGsk8rBoi42p@reddit
Nah, it's well documented users are dying from them.
mth5312@reddit
Lol no it's not. Do some research and come back.
BantedHam@reddit
Lol did we find the sig bot?
mth5312@reddit
I'm the most advanced sig bot ever. I can even read your mind. The gayness is astonishing tbh. But kudos 👍
Substantial_Two_8615@reddit
Cope
mth5312@reddit
Same to you bro 🤙
Immediate_Magician62@reddit
Funny how the p320 is the only pistol that you have to "do some research" to verify that it won't ND while other brands and models you can just kind of not do that. Almost like Sig has lost the trust of their customer base.
mth5312@reddit
That's literally the point of a misinformation campaign. Sig has had 2 payouts over 100 lawsuits with over 3.6 mil p320s sold. Remington, Taurus, Glock, Springfield have all made payouts for accidental injury claims with Remington having a major recall for thousands of rifles for defective TRIGGER designs.
P320s are statistically safe and you're claim of p320s are killing people is untrue and a sign of your lack of knowledge of the manner. The airman who died was murdered and not killed by his p320.
Now you don't have to do any research.
VFWRAKK187@reddit
This!!! People are forgetful and blinded by what’s new and flashing in their faces, plus it will all be swept under the rug in a few years. Smith and Wesson faced a lot of this scrutiny some time ago when their revolvers were blowing up, barrels were shipping canted, etc. etc. Taurus went through it, Ruger has been through it, Remington has been through it a lot, Mossberg, pretty much every major manufacturer has gone through this crap.
Feisty-Tadpole-5127@reddit
My p365xl went back to manufacturer for defects twice in the first 2 months. I quit carrying it and any Sig pistols at all how can I trust them especially after the p320 incidents on top of it all. Keep sucking that Sig dick though brother maybe they will let you swallow
NinjaBuddha13@reddit
Even if there is somehow nothing wrong with the P320 (doubtful) the way Sig has elected to handle the entire situation has broken any trust I had for them. I refuse to support any company that calls people anti-gun grifters for expressing concern about whats going on with the P320. I wont even buy a Sig optic anymore.
keenansmith61@reddit
So the videos of them going off by themselves are all fake?
NinjaBuddha13@reddit
Its all AI bro. Its an antigun conspiracy bro. They said so in that letter bro.
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
No way. This is a first gen FCU pre-voluntary upgrade. Future collectable.
Pashur604@reddit
It'll be in a display case like the one in Transformers 5. "That's the watch that killed Hitler, don't screw with it."
EUGsk8rBoi42p@reddit
😭
Bmwilli2@reddit
Does it fire on its own like a sentry gun with these?
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
Yeah but the slide locks every time
TacTurtle@reddit
ETS really giving ProMag a run for their money on the lowest build quality tier.
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
I have a 30 rds Beretta 92 promag adapted to my sig p226. That thing has yet to fail me, even though it's slowly turning to rust.
youy23@reddit
Extremely Trash Shit mags.
Beebjank@reddit
ETS mags lock the slide back on my Raider… with ammo in them. I threw them in the trash immediately lol
wv524@reddit
I had some Magpul Glock mags that would lock the slide of my G17 back with one round still in the mag. I had to do some grinding on the follower to let the gun fire the last round.
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
Yep had the same problem. But my hand fixed that. It's definitely reliable to fuck around with. Not duty grade
saintrudy41@reddit
I have 2 ETS mags, my biggest beef with them is that they swell up when they are full (Glock 19, 15 round). Otherwise, I guess I’ve been lucky. I still wouldn’t carry them, these are just for the range.
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
The swelling turned out to not be a problem. If they're empty they still shoot out the magwell incredibly fast. Sr-71 blackbird type engineering I guess.
banned4evver@reddit
Besides the Spyderco….so much ick in this photo
davyjones_prisnwalit@reddit
Let's talk about that spyderco and why didn't we get to see it unfolded.
I'm assuming it's a model similar to the Manix 2?
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
Sage 5 maxamet
RedRiceFox@reddit
Looks like a Sage 5.
NinjaBuddha13@reddit
A fool and his money are easily parted.
233115cam2@reddit
I have quite a few ETS M&P mags, all well used at the range. The only issues I have had is occasionally it’ll skip a round in the mag and somehow have like a round missing in the double stack mid way thru the mag, but even then it’ll still feed fine. I would say this is an issue with the sig style ETS in specific or an issue with your gun
Lawrence_skywalker@reddit (OP)
Mine also skips a round here and there. Dry cycles fine. No it is not the pistol OEM mags feed fine. I have 3 p320 and they all have the same issues with the mags. I honestly can't believe they left the factory this way.
TinyRick6@reddit
I bought 33rd glock mags from them when I was uneducated in shit mags and learned the same lesson you did. Just toss them.
RandoAtReddit@reddit
Same. One of the few mags I've left at the range on purpose. Maybe it's better than nothing for someone else.
Aardvarksof1776@reddit
Absolute trash magazines.
NinjaBuddha13@reddit
Pair well with the absolute trash gun.
ineedsoap16@reddit
There’s a reason they were $5
