Wavlink Dock for Dell Latitude 7430

Hi all. I am new to all of this, and a little overwhelmed.
I am wanting to set up 3 external monitors and still be able to use my laptop monitor on my WFH setup. I have a work issued Dell Latitude 7430.
The Dell dock is quite expensive so looking at alternatives. I have come across the Wavlink docks, and like the look of them.
Has anybody used a Wavlink dock with a Latitude 7430 and could recommend which dock? Or, an alternative?

So far as I can tell, the Wavelink that would work for your laptop and the Dell dock are around the same price.
You would need a Thunderbolt 4 dock to be able to drive 3 external monitors and the laptop display at the same time.

I'm not sure about Dell specifically, but I tested my Framework Ryzen 7840U laptop with HP USB-C G5 dock at work, and it had no problems driving 3 4k displays, though one of them was limited to 30 Hz (with a HP TB4 dock all 3 displays work at 60 Hz).

If your company does not allow you to install drivers then you should stay away from any dock that uses displaylink

There are display link drivers on the laptop. Do I need seperate ones for a Wavlink, or is one and the same for any dock?

Any chances that your company has USb device control software ? If so you need their approval to whitelist your docking station.
If you are working in such environment you need to get your IT to help

I’ll look into it on Monday. I asked them about drivers the other day, and they didn’t answer properly. I ended up trying to work it out myself

Since you got a Dell, you can ask your company IT if Dell UD22 dock is allowed. It is supports up to 4 monitors, 2 of them in navtive signal and 2 of them in displaylink
Tips, avoid displaylink dock if you cannot get the agreement with IT.

This is great. Cheaper than the WDs I was looking at, and looks a bit easier to set up.
A couple of questions, if you know the answers, can I use a HDMI to DP adaptor? My current monitors use HDMI and the additional one I am looking to buy also has HDMI. Does the dock plug into the normal USB-C port on the laptop? The dock I have now does (it’s not a TB dock).

This is a hybrid dock , 2 out of 4 ports using DP alt mode and 2 ports using displaylink.

Seems I can only get refurbed ones here. $159 AUD

Not bad, remember to update firmware to latest prior dealing with IT.

Thank you :) The drivers are on my laptop (it's work issued and I can't download anything, but I checked the system and it looks fine). Which Wavlink dock would you recommend?

I’ve used Wavlink docks before and they can work fine, but make sure you get one that uses DisplayLink if you want 3 monitors. Also check if your IT allows driver installs, because most of them need software to run properly.

Wavlinks work well, just make sure you install the latest DisplayLink drivers

Is there a Wavlink dock you would recommend? I currently use 2 external monitors with a Comsol dock. I bought it years ago and it was literally plug-n-play. But all of this new stuff is very confusing to me.
