during training where does the trainer sleep?

new driver here considering OTR. from what i read most companies pair you with experienced driver. i know there is only one sleep area. i plan to assert dominance over that area. sure he could potentially try and join me in my domain but he would need to submit to my domination.

If your trainer is a different gender than you then they will sleep in a hotel and you will sleep in the truck. If you're both the same gender then you both sleep in the truck. Also, it is frowned upon heavily to get busted jerkin it on the top bunk at night, save that for your weekly shower.

I stayed in a hotel while I was with my trainer because they had a dedicated route. I have no desire to ever team drive unless I'm in a relationship with the team driver and I'm a weird bastard to be fuckin because I like strange shit so the odds of finding a woman into that that has a cdl is basically zero.
And even on a bad week I still shower at least twice.

on a good day no more than 48 without a shower. otherwise it’d probably start stank a lil.. but once you go solo it’ll be pretty easy to earn those shower creds fueling with the fleet card lol.

My trainer was a different gender. Hotel was never offered as an option and I didn’t know that sleeping on the top bunk while moving was dangerous. I slept top bunk my trainer slept bottom.

I slept in the top bunk, which you aren't supposed to do. Thought I was being a nice guy and not encroaching on his space. It's dangerous. If your trainer is better than mine was, he'll know this. Good luck.

Same. I have memories of being thrown around up there like an empty beer car in the bed of a pickup. I’d wake up sliding forward in my bunk with just enough time to brace before going out and over.
My trainer would light up the brakes like a motherfucker and then scream the air horn whenever a moron cut him off.
I’d barely get any sleep, and he’d be sleeping like a baby in the bunk while I drove. I was miserable. I quit that shit when I went on hometime and found another company that finished my road training the right way (a trainer watching you drive and do shit and giving corrections).

Good that you got a second chance at training! My trainer spent most of the time in the bunk talking to various women in different cities that he'd met on dating apps. World class training. My co-driver and I basically trained each other that first year. Now I'm back OTR for the first time in over a decade. Electronics were starting to become a thing when I started, now the old ways are basically completely gone.

It’s gonna be ok. Don’t go in with a defensive attitude. Not all trainers are dominant or assholes. I’m a trainer (female) If you don’t like them, you can ask the company for a different one. I sleep in a hotel room. No dominating for me. I just want to help you have a good solid start.

Well, there's 2 bunks. If the truck is just parked then you'll be on a top bunk. Otherwise flip the bottom mattress while in motion or get some Dramamine for the top.
For better or worse it's not porn, that costs extra. Oddly new a girl that was very disappointed. Her trainer was too professional.
