I was a huge fan in the 90’s, and I’ve seen most episodes several times, but can you recommend 1 episode tonight to reignite my interest please.

The one with the flute. Don't know what it's called. Someone help me.

I was at a convention not long before this episode aired. One of the guests was Eric Stillwell who was a production assistant on TNG. He donated a part of the model they blew up to the charity auction. I don't remember how much it went for but can imagine the winner watching and excitedly pointing at the screen exclaiming "there goes my part!!"
majin_melmo@reddit
One of the best episodes for sure. And a Frakes directed episode 😎
TheRealCBlazer@reddit
I'm so happy to see this and so many other replies suggesting Cause and Effect. It might be my favorite.
impeesa75@reddit (OP)
Is this one where they want to kill Wesley?
notaprogrammer@reddit
It's the one where the Enterprise is stuck in a time loop. And I don’t remember an episode where someone wanted to kill Wesley?!?

Best of Both Worlds, Part 1
I but you’ll want to watch Part 2 tomorrow …
David_Summerset@reddit
That summer was brutal... I remember theorizing with my friends about what was going to happen the next season
jopperjawZ@reddit
I actually like to watch Part 1 at the beginning of summer and then Part 2 at the beginning of autumn. I do the same with the Who Shot Mr. Burns? 2-parter

Times Arrow part 1 and 2. Come on you got your time travel. You got your Guinan. You got your evil blue aliens. You got Mark Twain what more do you want! 🥰💯
VonGrippyGreen@reddit
A werewolf! One of the funniest lines in TNG. Almost as funny as I did not play with toys. I was never a boy.
My vote for a great TNG episode is Worf killing Duras.
"Reunion".

"Peak Performance" is pure competence porn, with some great moments of humor.
nymion@reddit
"Guile."
Along with A Matter of Honor my favorite episodes. Season 2 rightfully gets a lot of derision. But also has some of the absolute best classic trek
Unhappy-Eye-6483@reddit
Measure of a Man... Picard in full oratory flow and its glorious
vteezy99@reddit
I think if I could watch an episode right now or it’d be Disaster. Just seeing the Crew do their stuff when faced with, uh, disaster, is pretty damn cool
Who_is_homer@reddit
“You may now give birth”
vteezy99@reddit
Yup. I love all those character moments with the officers out of their element. Picard stuck in an elevator with kids, Worf helping Keiko give birth, LaForge getting pressured to be in Crushers play.
twoneedlez@reddit
“The simulation was nothing like this. That delivery was well orderly.”
FoxtrotSierraTango@reddit
And then a few years later:
Quark: Did you hear, Keiko’s gonna have another baby.
Worf: Now?

The Inner Light One of my personal faves. Beautiful acting by Sir Pat.
Journeyman-Joe@reddit
One of the best, certainly.
"Lessons" makes for a great follow-up.
fdaniels7720@reddit
Top 3 best ever
Techdad3@reddit
All of the above. But I’ll show the 7th season some love and say Parallels.
Alone-Republic876@reddit
The Pegasus.
Cadmax70@reddit
See also the Enterprise finale.
RobertWF_47@reddit
Somehow I missed this episode when it first aired in 1994. Was rewatching TNG twenty years later and was surprised when a "new" episode from season 7 was on TV. 😄

I still think about his rhetorical twist where he doesn't demonstrate that Data meets Maddox's 3rd quality of personhood, but rather proves the first two and then asks Maddox what it would mean if he met the 3rd one!

The Measure of a Man
Quillford@reddit
Every time I feel like rewatching TNG, I start with this one. It’s perfect sci-fi.
Ch3llick@reddit
When I watched this Episode on my first watchthrough of TNG, I knew that one is going to be one of the top 3 episodes for me, even if it was just in Season 2.

The Royale

ThrustersToFull@reddit
The Wounded.
A very underrated episode which lays the ground work for Deep Space Nine.
Also epic finishing remarks to his Cardassian opponent by Picard.
whatzsit@reddit
Ensigns of Command
Data story where he’s stuck on a planet with stubborn primitive earth people’s. B story of Picard trying to negotiate with an incomprehensible alien race and find a diplomatic solution to their problems.
Cheesy and fun and everything I love about TNG. Data even gets a kiss!
xander0387@reddit
Also has epic Troi cameltoe when she beams over with Picard to the Sheliak ship
pawogub@reddit
That was one of my favorite episodes as a kid. I always liked Data episodes a lot.
LaxBedroom@reddit
And some of the most adorable late 80s / early 90s conspicuous post-production ADR dialogue overdubbing for the leader of the stubborn colonists.

Deja Q.

We got my 9yo hooked with Starship Mine, followed by Cause and Effect and The Pegasus.
Worked way too well. I never thought I’d ever utter the words “can we stop talking Star Trek now and focus a bit on real life” but it happened.

Q Who
According_Sound_8225@reddit
Honestly my favorite episode of TNG.
RobertWF_47@reddit
Tin Man is one of my favorites that is often overlooked. A high stakes race with the Romulans that keeps you watching, mystery and wonder, plus really cool effects. And throw in some over the top acting with the Tam Elbrun character. 😅
Homer_Jr@reddit
The Defector
Physical-Name4836@reddit
Honestly…to really bring you back into the fold I strongly recommend
We’ll always have Paris. It’s the episode the changed what TV was for me and ignited my love of the trek. I liked trek before that thanks to “where no one has gone before”
But we’ll always have Paris is absolutely the game changer
RobertWF_47@reddit
