I was tempted to do the same thing to my new (thrifted) demin jacket but then I started worrying about losing a cool pin if it fell off. It was the same weird anxiety I had as a kid not wanting to put stickers in my sticker book because what if I decided I didn't like the placement. So now it's summer and my jacket is pinless. My plan for next winter is to buy duplicate pins so if I lose one, I'll be okay with it.

I still have my original Levi's jacket I got in 1987, it still has a ton of pins all over it. I recently got a cargo jacket, and have started putting pins on that. I just got a new canvas messenger bag, I've already started putting pins on it.
