I have a couple pistol builds in mind. I am torn between these two optics which, in all honesty, I will most likely end up with both at some point. That being said though, I’d like to know from the guys that have experience with them, which would you prefer? Uses would vary

Here's my hot take and there's actually a lot of big name people that agree.
I don't think it's worth it for the cost of those optics. I really don't my friend.
Holisun has such a good reputation that I just don't see the point in paying the extra money.

You’re not wrong. I think it’s a vanity play lmao

Yeah and listen, I've actually got a big heart for trijicon because I was one of the first Marines to get issued the ACOG. Having said that, I've seen all those optics fail and all those companies will take care of you but you can almost get two Holosun for the price of some of those more expensive optics.

That’s awesome! What unit? I’m a fellow crayon enthusiast myself

1st LAR. We got issued them as soon as we got to iraq. We zeroed them out in the desert lol.

That’s metal. Hell yeah brother. I appreciate your input!

Yeah man, I was impressed, there was a guy running our checkpoint and I was about 70 yards away. I put that half triangle right where I wanted it to go and that vehicle stopped today in his tracks. That's the first time I ever used an optic in combat.

Blows my mind at the shit guys were able to do before them

I don't know when you were in but we used lasers a lot during my first appointment. We did not have optics then. We had the older m16. The lasers were good for getting people to stop walking toward a spirit if they didn't stop, you know what happened to then.
I had my father send me a handgun laser and I retrofitted it for my rifle. It wasn't perfectly zeroed but I used it a lot.

I was in from 17-21. Didn’t see any action but we had M4’s and M9’s right before they switched to the M18’s. We had acogs and peq15s on the M4’s

I got a question for you if you were an 03.
In 2006 when we got back from deployment, they were testing a new marksmanship course. It was called the combat marksmanship program (CMP).
Did you have to do that? I've talked to so many marines after me and they said they don't even know what that was.
Tall_Fudge9749@reddit (OP)
Yeah that’s still a thing. Not sure who you talked to but it’s all stuff pushing through SOI and in the fleet

I got a SRO used for cheap, I like it. I've had an RCR in mind for awhile, and will get one eventually.
why did you want the arco instead of RCR?
Tall_Fudge9749@reddit (OP)
I didn’t even really know about the RCR. You might have just opened a new realm of autism for me

sorry to dent your wallet
