I bet most don't even pretend. "Drill baby drill" won, you know.

Submission Statement,
The first Earth Day back in 1970 wasn't some pathetic, feel-good corporate circle jerk or a day to go out and buy a canvas polar bear tote bag to show your neighbors how much you care. No. It was a massive, pissed-off, disruptive national scream that forced the suits in Washington to get off their fat asses, create the EPA, and pass a few laws that actually meant something
But over the decades, the professional bullshit artists in corporate PR pulled off a brilliant bait-and-switch. They flipped the script completely. Instead of holding big industrial polluters accountable for poisoning the air and water, they turned the spotlight right back on us.
So just sayin, if we want to address collapsing society, if we want to stop the slow-motion face-plant of humanity, people have to stop mindlessly repeating environmental buzzword slogans and start using something radical: critical thinking. But good luck finding that. Take a look at educational lesson plans. You'll find ten times or more resources teaching catchy slogans than teaching actual, hard-nosed thinking. We love the slogans; we hate the thinking.

We're also going to have to admit to a simple, brutal truth that nobody wants to hear. Our actions have consequences. It's not magic. It's not a miracle. It's physics! It's chemistry! And until we get the science through our thick skulls, we're just fooling ourselves.
