I honestly think it's because of the immigrant muslim extremists moving around, it creates more tension on a religious basis. The albanian population is also muslim and it feels more like imminent danger from their potential radicalization as they would be more susceptible to that (even though they are locally not that radical by far).
There has always been some hate between the 2 ethnic groups in Macedonia, but not like this. What's funny is that in Albania macedonians are treated really well by albanians. Albanians from Albania are also treated well in Macedonia. Or that has been my experience at least, as most of my childhood vacations with my family were spent in Albania.
I have also heard from friends from Kosovo that have travelled here that they had a lot of problems with our albanians. One specific situation I was told about was that a guy from Kosovo wanted to order a beer in an albanian-owned bar here and he was almost beat up because that goes against his religion, so he was treated like a traitor to Islam.

Albanians are no different from other Albanians. Maybe it is the atmosphere in your country. Slavs behave as hardcore christians, and the you could expect that the counterpart will behave as hardcore muslims.
Such narrative that Albanians in Kosovo are like this, in Macedonia like that and those in Albania are allright will backfire soon. Albania is getting really affectionate with Greece recently, and Macedonia is stirring the hornets nest regarding Albanian language lately, which is a redline amd riles up even the most cosmopolitan people around here. Maybe you should realize thag Macedonia is not Serbia, and can not afford to play such games toward Albanians.

I'm not saying anything negative about albanians in general, but you have to acknowledge that it's different based on what country they've grown up in. Of course they would be more hostile if they've grown up in Macedonia and had all their life experience with constant tension with the macedonians. Someone born in Kosovo or Albania wouldn't have grown up around all that hostility and they come with less prejudice and baggage. It has nothing to do with the people's nationality itself, just the environment they were brought up in. It's all artificially created political tension.

The tension is no longer artificial. Maybe in early 20th century our cetas even join forces with Macedonians and Bulgarians, but a lot has happened since then and there are grudges. Still, i am sure that religion influences Slavs greatly, while in our narrative religion is seen as universal practice, that is separate from being Albanian.

he's right in saying that Albanians from Macedonia are more religious. But I don't think that religion plays much of a role in any new animosity.
It's mostly just the pendulum swinging from the previous more liberal government SDSM to a more nationalist party. Give it a few more years and people will be unhappy with VMRO again.

Macedonians get mad when Albanians claim Macedonian terrotories or when Albanians wave Albanian flags in public in Macedonia or when they speak Albanian on official Macedonian channels that are meant to be followed by groups of people that include Macedonians. I don't think there's a surge of hate happening, maybe the algorithm is just giving you more anti-albanian content currently.
